Well with A Johns, Burdrus, Gidleys, Simpson etc it made it very hard to re-sign the likes of BK etc.
even at the time when Hagan wasn't involved with Parra in anyway i could understand why he couldn't sign anyone, and i still do.

On the other side, Brian lost how many players no where near the calibre of Burderus, Johns and Simpson yet even with money to spend he surprised all of us with Wise, Thorman, Muckett, half back Corey Pearson and co, when his arse was on the line in 2004 he deciding to go out and buy half the comp, didn't rely on juniors as hagan did just went straight out and brought of the shelf, sign of a quality coach:lol:

He blooded only a handful of players in his last years at Parramatta, didn't think Feleti was good enough, same with Hayne the list is endless...

Since 2002 Brian has made the finals once, evem his protegees are struggling eg Taylor lol

Petersen did alright. Sure he's probably the world's slowest winger (did he ever make a break to score a try?), but he had more heart than most of the rest of the team combined.

Smithy did sign some classic duds over the years though :lol: How long until we can add one T.Smith to the list?

Richards was fine in his last year from memory, played a few games in firsts then dropped for Petersen, finished off the year in the reserves.

I did not mean literally. But when everyone was scared Joey was going to rah rah in 2004. Then a ridiculous amount of money was thrown at him to keep him in the game. This forced Tahu to go to Parra and BK to go to Manly.

Some newcastles supporters are kidding themselves. Hagan was blessed with having Joey at the club. You take Joey out of any team coached by any coach and that team will struggle, not just a team that is coached by Hagan.

As for Smith, he is a very very smart coach. However he gets on the player nerves to much. He messages them before the games saying, are you focused, are you fired up for the game tomorrow.

He used to go to parra leagues club, get the coasters from there and right notes on the back of them and give them to players, he would say go work on this lol..a bit to much.

Correct me if im wrong but isnt there a topic in the parra forums saying your team have no heart?

And yes we are playing with heart... have yet to be thrashed this season and have scored the same amount of tries as the teams who beat us..
