Mitchell Pearce arrested over altercation outside a Kings Cross nightclub

Read what I said.

Stewart was banned and fined for drunken disorderly conduct. Had nothing to do with what supposedly happened between him and the girl involved.

The ban was because he was drunk and got into trouble.

My bad but do you think he would've copped a month if the girl wasn't involved? I don't.

I don't mind if he does as I think the d1ckhead needs a lesson, however, as much as I want to see NSW win, part of me would like to see no punishment as the meltdown that's gonna follow on here is going to be awesome.

why?

players busted for DUI haven't and Peace has not even been charged with anything

If it is comparable to those busted for DUI, and nothing else is involved, then I suspect James Tamou's punishment from last year is probably what is being looked at.

I dunno, tell me your thoughts on Jake Friend first ;-)

Jake Friend passed out in a taxi while pissed and was caught with a couple of prescription pain killers as best I can recall. The group of idiots that tried to start a fight with him, Pearce, and Foran while accusing them of hitting a woman had their case thrown out of court if you'll remember.

Far cry from being on the record as an admitted woman basher ala Mr Inglis.

I would think it would be less of a punishment than that given Tamou was a high range drink driving charge plus driving without a licence, both quite serious. Pearce committed an offence that carries a couple hundred dollar fine.

The fact that he was ejected from one club before going to another and being arrested will be enough. Charges should be irrelevant. Stewart was charged and later found not guilty. If you are going on charges being laid, you are assuming some kind of guilt. What the NRL will ban him for is the same as what they banned Stewart for and the only thing they can prove at this stage. He was drunk and he was arrested = 4 weeks.

I agree with you, but the precedent has been set.

I'm not fussed either way, but I think that Manly fans would be entitled to be a little upset if he didn't cop a similar ban to Stewart.

Woman tells police she does not want to make a formal complaint against Roosters' halfback Mitchell Pearce

Date
May 13, 2014 - 11:49AM

Michael Carayannis and Nick Ralston

The woman who initially complained to police about the behaviour of Roosters' halfback Mitchell Pearce has told officers she does not want the matter to go any further.

Fairfax Media understands the woman contacted police last night about the incident at the Kings Cross nightclub Beach Haus on the early hours of Sunday morning.

She is believed to have told officers she wants to put the matter behind her and would not be making a formal complaint.

Footage obtained by Channel Nine and aired on Monday night’s news bulletin showed the woman had become agitated when Pearce moved toward her from his seat at the club as she walked past him at about 1.30am on Sunday.

The woman, who was wearing a bright yellow dress with a split up the side, then approached uniformed police who were in the venue at the time and pointed out Pearce to them. He was then asked to leave but allegedly refused and was handcuffed by police before being escorted from the establishment in Kellett Street.

It is alleged that Pearce began laughing before he was thrown out.

Pearce’s legal representatives responded to the video footage with the following statement: ‘‘There has been speculation and innuendo in the media that creates an impression that our client had an inappropriate interaction with a female patron at a nightclub over the weekend. That speculation is false’’.

Comment was being sought from the NSW police and the Roosters.

Police conclude investigation into nightclub incident - Potts Point

Tuesday, 13 May 2014 11:43:36 AM

Police have concluded their investigation into an alleged incident inside a nightclub at Potts Point over the weekend.

About 1:30am, Sunday 11 May 2014, officers from Kings Cross Local Area Command attended a licensed premise on Roslyn Street, when they received a complaint about a patron.

A 25-year-old man was spoken to by police before being asked to leave and escorted outside by security.

The man was arrested after allegedly becoming argumentative with police and refusing to leave the area.

He was taken to Kings Cross Police Station where he was issued with an infringement notice for failing to leave licensed premises when required. He was also issued a 48-hour banning notice.

Detectives conducted further investigations into the matter including reviewing closed-circuit television footage and making an appeal for anyone with information to come forward.

About 10pm last night (Monday 12 May 2014), a woman made contact with police and spoke to investigators.

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, declined to make a statement to police and did not wish to proceed with any further action.

No further police action will be taken regarding the incident.

how long before the media try and track her down and harass her into talking?

They won't, Mitch is teflon coated. I watched the Matty Johns show last night and they were already brushing it aside and saying he shouldn't be suspended

Though maybe if Weidler thinks he can get in her pants he will chase this story

With the investigation dropped and no real evidence that he did anything to the girl I'll take back that Pearce "copped a feel", it looks that way but its unfair to just guess. And its clear the real issue with the Police was that he became argumentative. If he just cooperated nothing would have escalated.

Still I think at the very least the NRL should sit him down for a week or two. It's a poor look, getting kicked out of two establishments, arguing with the police and being arrested and then kicking on to the Star afterwards apparently

Teflon Coated?
The bloke has been smeared across the newspaper for 2 1/2 days for basically nothing other than not following police direction...he deserves a kick in the arse for being an idiot but there were no charges laid other than an infringement notice
