My old man reckons Dan Morts is as good as gone for 2011 if continues to develop. I'd say Noddy is only a couple of years of retirement.

Amazing how everyone knows what's happening in a players personal life. The Mortimer clan are scattered throughout Parra lower grades, yet they secretly aspire to play for the Dogs. HmmOK. :sarcasm:

He challenged the line and looked like breaking it so many times near the end. With a bit more polish he will be a great asset to this side. I think maybe when Keating is ready to return he will have a fight on his hands because Robson was very good out there.

The great thing about his game is that he has been involved in match winning plays in two of his handful of games so far, both at the death of the game. Finch played two and a half seasons for us and went missing at crunch time on every occasion.

I think at this stage he's a raw 6 or 7 but would be a very dangerous 14. A lot of his best work so far has been out of dummy half.

Robbo tries hard and can run a bit, but has gone MIA in the last 30 minutes of games. It nearly cost us the Newy game, and yesterday, and meant we were out of the Cronulla and Tigers games, both of which we probably should have won.

Not sure KK is the answer. We need someone who can control a game and close it out when we have a small - good lead.

Also don't think that is Craig Wing. Maybe Monahan is the best idea for 1 season with an option our way?

Jeff Robsons kicking is crap. On a few occasions he had plenty of time to pick his spot and find grass but he kept 'giving' it to Hunt...... I don't know maybe he likes Hunts running style or something.

The thing that impressed me about Mortimer yesterday was his defence. Sam Thaiday was given a mission to run at him all day, and he deadset didn't miss a beat. Pulled him down time after time. (quite easily on a few occasions I must say).

Yeah that was impressive.

Hopefully his allround game will develop.

Jeff Robson is our third string half for fu*k sake. People should ease up on the baggings already. He isn't as bad as some make out anyway. Sure his kicking game is less then desired, but so was Finch's, and his passing game is on par with Finch's, who was on 300+, but his defense is spot on. So stop bitchin, the kid is on stuff all. Some of you people want blood from a stone. Sheesh.

Have to agree, Robson is a hooker in a half backs shirt. I don't believe he was expected to do anything except help the players at Webty, his defence is great but unfortunately his kicking is woeful, it is pretty frustrating to watch every kick not find space.

I think we would have won at least 2 more games if KK was playing 7, maybe more if Feleti was around, but who expected a third string part time player to be your main playmaker, at least its not Finch.

I was the least disappointed i have been after a loss against the Tigers because how can you be angry at a guy who is a third string halfback and is trying his best and giving his all?

After his great game against the Knights the week before, it was always going to be hard to back it up when the reason you don't play NRL is that you are not consistent enough.

He has plenty of heart, is a good little defender and i think considering everything against him, he has actually been quite good.

That damn stone better not be taking up much cap space either!

Iactually agree with everyone!

I can cop some of the losses we have had with the guy. Tackles his heart out, plays probably above his weight. Prob gets paid a pie and chips after the game.

But fact is, with him at 7 it will cost us winnable games. Not blaming him, just saying we can't plan for 2010 with him there.

By the way every game he has played to date is better than every game Finch played for us at 7 bar 40 minutes of round 1 2008.

I have to 100% agree, the guys isnt up to first grade standard but atleast he is not getting paid 300K for it. He has been much better than Finch ever was at halfback and I think he could continue to play NRL footy if he had some experiance players outside him (like a Smith, Cronk, Thurston, Lockyer etc).

I think Anderson is looking at #7 Keating/#6 Mortimer combo for next year. Anderson did say that he didn't think that Mortz had it to play as a halfback week in week out in the NRL at this stage but did float into first reciever on a few occations, anderson also commented on how hard it is to play halfback in the NRL. Anderson had shown faith in Keating (also inexperianced) to play halfback though (over Robson) so I think Anderson may be of the belief that KK has the ability (both phisically and mentally) to lead the side with ethe #7 jersey on. I would not complain if we kept Robson for 2010 as a backup player, I would pay him 55K because the guy deserves it IMO.

Spot on, while i watching him yesterday i just kept saying to myself thank god he is gone. He was terrible yesterday even with Cronk and Smith running the show.

I`m really glad to see Robson getting some support here. And you have to remember that, despite his age, he`s still very inexperienced at this level. I reckon Anderson`s done a good job to get the best out of him. I hope Robson manages to play his way into some sort of contract for next year. He could develop into a very handy replacement half/hooker.
And on Mortimer; I`m quite impressed. He`s obviously got some class. Half or five-eight? I don`t know.
