Pete's a liar i thik he just likes making these storys up , i dont think he speaks to anyone but himself
Morts played over 50 games in 1st grade straight and he showed no playmaking ability in my eyes.
kicking - too shallow and always hit the fullback on the full
passing - doesn't have the vision and rarely throws a good ball to backs
speed - Isn't slow but isn't fast either
defence - tackles his heart out
Overall he's no great loss and there is no way we could have Sandow and Morts in the same team.
Frank Farina.
Suity
was the nrl coach you spoke to michael hagan
Just because you think he doesn't fit into Parra style, doesn't necessarily mean he CAN'T play.
snoopy collins...nah! sorry Pete, love ya ;-)

If you can't pass, you can't pass
If you can't kick, you can't kick.
The field sizes are the same and I doubt different colours on a jersey will fix it
Yeah, didn't work with Casey McGuire when he went to Brisbane..or with Scott Prince when he switched from Cowboys to Broncos to Tigers...I see what you mean....
You are entitled to your opinion, just as much as I am to mine. You think he is no good, I think he will be a success at his new Club...Time will tell...I think Brian Smith is just the bloke to bring it out of him - along with Matthew Elliott who is Brian's assistant in 2012.
Gus Gould also wanted Daniel at Penrith..he too can see the potential in him. Gus had (Uncle)
Chris Mortimer in his 1990 Grand Final team (beaten by Raiders) and he is aware of how tough the Mortimer clan are....
My money is on David Furner. Same difference, really.
Sorry, Pete.
understand what your're saying Pete. McGuire is a wrong example to use. He was young when he went back to Brisbane and hadn't played over 50 1st grade games in a row.
Scott Price kept breaking his legs at Cowboys and Broncos and needed to be injury free so his potential could be fulfilled. He got that at the Tigers.
Maybe the Broncos could see Casey's potential..Maybe Daniel will get an opportunity like Scott did..with the Chooks...Time will tell..
The main difference is obviously Kearney.
That said, I thought at the time that re-signing Morts was a great idea, as did everyone else. The club was just giving fans what we wanted.
Then when it was identified that Mortimer had to go, it's good that the people in charge managed to make it happen.
If anything, good on Morts for taking a pay cut.
After the Round 26 game against the Warriors last year in Nathan Cayless's swansong, Suity and I went onto the field and we were both particularly critical of Dan's kicking game that night. We stood 40 metres away from each other and couldn't believe he couldn't get that distance. Of course he's under pressure and in a game situation but one would expect your half to be able to do that.
In saying that however I honestly wish him all the best and hope he improves as a player because he has a lot of wonderful qualities as a human being, is very tenacious and spirited and displayed he has the potential to offer something to a rugby league team during our 2009 run. However I think for both parties involved it's good that we part ways as what we require in a play maker he cannot provide to us.
He'd probably be everything we'd want in a player if he was in a back-rowers body but alas he is not. Hopefully he can be more successful at the Roosters.
