No criticism towards SK noted.

When he was writing it he was coaching him, so no surprised. It's kinda shame Hindmarsh didn't write it next year, when he would be free to give his thoughts.

Re: The errors/typos, I just finished reading Gasnier's biography & there's the same kind of mistakes.

He doesn't rate Hagan at all, he said Hagan pretty much let the team run wild and it was up to the senior players to provide the discipline. Something Hindy said he wasn't comfortable with, he said players turned up late to training and even hung over.

He had to send a few players home, so now it is confirmed about the rift with the senior and younger players. Amazing that a coach can allow his players to act in such a manner and not act on it. He really was the worst thing to happen to this club in a long long time.

maybe joey did all the yelling and screaming at the knights so when hages came to parra he assumed caylo and hindy would do the same here?

What does Hindy say about Hayne?

Says very little about Hayne, but what he does say is all positive. Writes mainly about his freakish form at the back of '09.

I'd like to read his book if he rewrote it in 10 years time. Good read for any Eels fan, but no real surprises and certainly no revelations or scandal.

Ever since Hayne signed his current contract Hindmarsh on many occasions has publicly made little snide remarks about Hayne. The recent injury where he took the piss out of Hayne for his injury being an example. In my opinion there is an element of jealousy with Hindmarsh towards Hayne and a lack of respect.

i don't think it would be jealousy - i think hayne's smug laidback demeanour probably rubs some older people the wrong way - hindy is the knuckle down get somewhere by hard work type, i think hayne would simply rub him the wrong way, particularly in hayne's earlier years where he had more attitude but had proven little .... i get the feeling hindy has more respect for hayne these days

Hayne should be our captain in 2012 with an announcement made after Hindmarsh's last game in conjuction with a Hayne contract extension. I would actually allow Hindmarsh to make that announcement with a changing of the guard type of press conference.

I disagree. Earlier in the year Hindmarsh was asked who should be the fullback for NSW. He said Mini. Which was a farcical comment.

its called research they could just type the name into wikipedia and it will come up

While true, if they tried to fact check every little thing Hindy said to make sure his memory served him correctly on all counts we'd probably still be waiting another year for his book.

Oh, and relying on Wikipedia as a source...

earlier in the year hayne had been out injured and then hobbled around for weeks when he returned .... i wouldn't have picked him for game 1 - but they did and he played well

Hindmarsh is still behind Ray Price who in my opinion is the greatest Eel of all.

I don't disagree, but if Hindmarsh retires with four premierships behind him and played in a team of genuine superstars for the majority of his career, perhaps opinions would be different.

Hiney is just behind the great man in my opinion.

on the basis that I think he's better

ok - i suppose you want more than that ...

I have never seen anyone with a motor like Hindy. Never ever stops - end of story.
Pricey ran himself to a standstill - his workrate was phenomenal also, but Hindy is even at another level in my eyes - his ability to always put himself in a position to stop a try is pretty much unmatched in my lifetime watching footy. In his young days before a few injuries Hindy was an amazing ball runner also - I know that has dropped off massively tho. Pricey probably managed to continue to be a threat in attack most his career.

Its very hard to compare different eras - but i think Hindy pips Price in my eyes ... If I had to order my all time parra legends (and I only include guys I've seen) ...
