I'm not sure if that has been mentioned, In the book Hindmarsh mentions the game against the Storm at home in 2010 was on a Monday night. I'm sure that game was on Friday as I went to it. I must be getting old and confused.
Does anyone know if that game was played on a Friday or Monday?

From what I saw;
95% of people foamed at the mouth and wanted Kearney sacked.
5% of people wanted him to see out his contract, usually this was on the grounds of stability and/or the lack of a suitable replacement for 2013 in their opinion.

Funnily enough, the people who were possitive and happy to support the previous coach, are now still positive and happy to support the new coach.

And one bloke seems to hate every coach.

I never saw anyone claiming Kearney was a great coach, some peoples comprehension is clouded because the bigbad Poupou was mean to them. Pretty embarrassing really.

And Hindy's book sounds about as boring as his hit ups.

I was in the 5% of those who wanted SK to see out his contract on the grounds of stability but I also wanted Ando to see out his for the same reason.
Now that we hear that we are 'rebuilding' (sic) again, I'm hoping that Ricky sees out his contract, even though IMO none of them are 'great coaches'.
We need stability, we need to be an attractive club for coaches, we need to be a club where the tail doesn't wag the dog. For reasons such as these Ricky gets my full support just like the last two coaches did. I just hope the board finally work out what the term 'full support' means.
I think we need to adopt another method for dealing with coaching failures other than simply paying them out a year or so early and throwing a million dollars worth of net ticket and merchandise sales away that our supporters put into the club. It infuriates me that we all chip in our hard earned and it gets wasted like this.

the funniest part was when he said in 2001 when we were playing the warriors a player who isn't named stubbed he's toe and didn't play not cause anything was broke but because of nerves ..... AKA eric grothe

The book has some surprising factual errors in it, but they're all small stuff. He gets the year wrong when certain players leave and the 2010 Storm game etc. His bit on Mark Geyer and his take on Matt Cooper singing the national anthem is hilarious.

Yeah I thought he was talking about Guru jnr too. He went on to say that most players are playing with injury 90% of the time but this one particular player would pull out of matches for the slightest of injuries.

Wasn't Grothe at the Roosters in 2001?

Gotta get me a copy of the book anyway, sounds good

Yeah Grothe went over to the Roosters in late 2001 for the 2002 season. Hindmarsh in the book is a little vague (as in most of the book). It is a great book, but hardly a tell all expose.

I'm not too far into the book yet but 2 things i noticed was round 1 99 against the dragons and the debut of a blonde surfy kid named "Barty"(not sure if that is actually what they called him back then, just doesn't sound right to me.)
And when he mentioned Craig Goward from Penrith

Page 130-something it actually mentions former-forum poster Nikki (spelt Nicky in the book)
Hows that for a claim to fame!
