Now I'm not watching the game, so this is purely going off the boxscores.

But maybe we have our answer on why Rambis has been sitting Love so much?

Love played 17 minutes in the first half (most of any T-Wolves), and while his offense appeared to be good (17 points), at the same time Minnesota seem to be getting killed defensively.

Sure they aren't a great defensive team anyways, but when Brandon Bass has 15 points at the half, you know somethings gone terribly wrong.

Just curiously Special K, in regards to the Iggy/Turner dynamic, are they often on the floor at the same time or does Collins try and have one on while the other is off?

Hornets continue their perfect start with a win over the Rockets. And unlike the Hawks, their schedule has actually been somewhat difficult, with games against the Bucks, Nuggets, Spurs & now the Rockets. Still don't like their depth but if they can have some luck on the injury front, and with Paul returning to his awesome pre-injury level, they should make the playoffs.

Big test up next though, playing the Heat in two days, although it's at home.

Both are on the floor together mostly.

I think they need to move Iggy. While Turner and Iggy (with Jrue) gives you potential lock down defense I think as Turner grows Iggy will get in the way.

Also there is a question of if Jrue and Turner can play together.. And is Turner a 1 or a 2? The guy is awesome though and showing some real potential after a bad pre season.

Kobe with a great game today, 30 pts, 12 assists and 10 rebounds in a comfortable win over the Kings. Kobe looked really good out there and was just toying with them at times.

Who would have thought that the Clippers would have broken the drought aagainst OKC of all teams.

Bledsoe had a pretty nice game.

I've gotta say that the Lakers have been impressive, just with their performances let alone the results. Odom is playing out of his mind, Barnes is providing a spark each time he checks in and Kobe is just letting each game come to him. If they keep this up, with Bynum still to return, I struggle to see any team beating them.

The Lakers are on cruise control atm. Every time a team gets close and looks like challenging they just turn it on again and put it out of reach.

Kobe is playing very well and like you said just letting the games come to him and not forcing anything. Hopefully we keep this up and with Bynum to come hopefully we only get better.

What do they do when Bynum comes back?

As you said Odom has been so good. Would you want to risk that by moving him back to the bench when Bynum returns? I can see Bynum initially coming off the bench when he's back.

What I really like so far is that (admittedly a short sample space) Gasol is being leaned on more offensively.

So far in 5 games, Gasol's averaged 18 shots per game.

So far in 5 games, Kobe's averaged 18 shots per game.

Whether this balance will continue for the rest of the season is yet to be seen. Really hope it does

Part of that is definitely the skill-set of Odom & Gasol working - it's hard to come up with a better passing big man tandem in the league (Smith & Horford is the only pair that comes close IMO). The interplay between those two (and all the other Lakers) is hard to defend and it's resulting in a level of ball movement that just doesn't exist when Bynum is in the line-up.

Considering they don't have a typical point, to be ranked 10th in the league in assist ratio is pretty impressive, with Odom & Gasol ranking 3rd & 11th, respectively, among PFs in assist ratio.

Once Bynum returns I'd expect that to change a bit. Whilst he isn't a black hole on a Zach Randolph level, he certainly looks to score first & foremost, and then will think about passing as a last resort. That will also probably correspond to a slow-down in pace and a bigger focus on defence.

I have an idea about Bynum, OKC should try get him in a trade, they need a decent big man bad, thats one thing holding then back, Westbrook and Durant can only do so much by themselves.

Bynum is a great anchor for us on defence. Odom will go back to the bench but will still play starter minutes as i dont see Bynum playing anymore the 25mins a game. I dont think Bynum will disrupt anything too much, if we are to win when it matters, we need a healthy Bynum and that big body.
