New rule

Aren't the new rules supposed to make the game quicker and entertaining. No bloody way they have. The new rules have turned me well and truly off the game. The game between us and the Storm went for nearly 2 hours because of penalties, injuries, challenges etc. etc. what a bore.

If your team is unlucky and several of your players are sin binned or sent off, well that is the ball game. We did not stand a chance once Fui was sent off and we had sin bins as well. Lucky for us that they had their players out and Paps came off injured otherwise cricket score.

Now we have have to wait to see what the suspensions will be and how long Dufty will be out for and we play the Sharks next Friday so a short turnaround.
The new rules make the game quicker, BUT are making the game, a game of luck and referring decisions.

Hi guys.
Rugby league has been around since 1908 (113 years). I have followed rugby league for 36 years. The latest game changes the NRL have made are going to ruin the game and push all fans away. Rugby League is a contact sport. I have played Rugby League for 20 years and every time I stepped on the field I knew I was playing a contact sport that comes with a possibility of a head knock. I fully agree if a player intentionally hits a player in the head deserves to to be penalised, sent off and suspended.
Players that have possession that are falling in tackles and defenders are tackling that make contact with shoulder to the head is NOT a send off.
On the weekend there was many players that had possession running with the ball and making contact with the shoulder to the defenders head. How come this is not a penalty to the defender?
Players that play this game are milking everytime they get a chance to get a advantage. How many times do we see players grab the back of the head to gain a penalty?
Players got to sign contracts knowing this is a contact sport and there is a chance of getting injured.
I will be not be attending anymore games until the game wake up to themselves.

The game we love is not the game we knew.

LETS PROTEST THE RULE CHANGES!

An obviously blatant head high sendoff if not leave 13 on 13. Leave to the review committee. Just let it be. Games become one sided. What happens if the ref sends a player of but review committee doesn't have a problem. Like Fui Pap had turned bent his knees waiting for the tackle. That is why an arm caught his head. Was it swinging was it vicious or blatant. It is what happens. Try no arms like Rav and still get punished.

I've given the game the benefit of the doubt for a long time now.

Legs tackles punished.
Voluntary tackles rewarded.
Junior development not rewarded.
A salary cap which is clearly not working as designed.
Moving to big venues to line pockets.
Selling out family days on the hill for TV ratings.
Overpriced everything.
Players who are entitled and in it purely for themselves.
No love of the jersey.
Clubs losing identity.
Playing style boring and predictable across the league.
Athletes instead of footballers.
6 again rubbish.

This latest change is the worst of the lot. The NRL no longer represents the game I used to love, and it will only get worse from here.

Time to say goodbye for me. I'm going to find another sport.

Go f**k yourself NRL

Yes im getting close also to give it all a miss .... It has always been a contact sport .... leave it alone or change the name and call it something else..... Because it isn't Rugby League anymore. .....

Dam Right,

I say let the Meat Puppets slam into each other. To hell with their lives after 40.
Not at all. But if blokes are going to be sent off for any sort of high contact then it's in the victims best interests to subject them to proper HIA ptotocols any time that happens.

So for every time Teddy dives head first into someones shoulder the tackler gets 10 in the bin and Teddy goes for a HIA, not least of all because it's a f**king stupid thing to do.

I saw Kikau last night put an opponent in a headlock & proceed to drag him back 10 metres with force then swing him to the ground.
If that’s not attacking the head of a player what is?

And another thing how was Liam Martin put on report for raising his arm when running the ball ? I tell you why!! Because Bromwich, Asofa & Finnucane did against us all game & do it every time. I reckon the bunker saw it didn’t say anything because it’s the storm but the very next game bingo, let’s penalise a lower profile player.
Sorry about the rant.

They won't change the current rules because the top teams won easily and that's is all that matters. In fact, the bloody NRL most probably will bring in further changes to make the whole league a deadset basketcase and will ruin what we once really enjoyed watching.

As Hook said post game, will the refs sin bin players or send any player off during the SOO series? If so, that will make people turn off the game which will lose the 9 Network advertising revenue, so too the Fox Network. I can't wait for the SOO to start to see what will happen!

Are the League still saying these rule changes are making the game faster?
