We Qlders are putting together a petition for Pearce's position to be held for him. It was a minor indiscretion and we need him to continue his good work at Origin level.

Adam Reynolds really isn't a viable option for NSW. Whilst he has one of the better kicking games of any half in the NRL, he simply isn't proficient at the various other duties of traditional halfback play; his organisational abilities leave a lot to be desired. He isn't by any means a creative ball player. And frankly even the most basic skills of passing and running the ball are things with which he seriously struggles.

Aside from his kicking game which, admittedly as I've said is very good, he's nothing more than a stock standard club player. You can't pick a halfback like that and expect to be successful against such a dominant QLD side. There simply isn't enough creativity especially if you were to pick Tedesco or heaven forbid Dugan at fullback.

As for other troubling decisions, I honestly don't know who I'd pick on the right wing. It's been a revolving door of utter failures out there with QLD's left edge, arguably the most dangerous flank to ever play Origin football, tearing them to shreds every year. Turner, Monaghan, Williams, Uate, McManus, Merritt and the list goes on. I'm also very reluctant to suggest moving a Josh Dugan or any other fullback out there. They're simply not familiar with the positional necessities to handle QLD's left side. It's pointless having a hard-working fullback who'll make good metres out of their own end from dummy-half, playing on the wing if every time there's a wide-shift from QLD they rush in and get caught out. Thurston will exploit that all night. So I'm not quite resolved on who should be picked there.

Nor who should play right side second row with Cordner now out and most of NSW's genuine options being left side specialists - Bird, Hoffman, Graham, etc.

Well he's just come out of surgery for a chest injury which is expected to keep him out of action for at least three months and there's talk he may be out for even longer.

Interesting to see with Dugan likley moving to center for saints if Daley than picks him there. Daley loves him at fullback but with our uncreative halves we need a play making option in the 1. Duagn would be a great fullback for QLD but not NSW.

1. Tedesco
2. Ferguson
3. Dugan
4. Jennings
5. Morris
6. Maloney
7. Sezer
8. Woods
9. Farah
10. Tamou
11. Graham
12. Cordner
13. Gallen

14. Austin/J.Bird
15. Frizzell
16. Klemmer
17. Vaughan

The likes of JMoz, Hopoate, Hoffman, Scott etc simply need to go. They offer nothing at this level anymore. Picking guys like Cordner and Jackson on the bench and giving them 25mins is geniused. They are 80 mins players, if youre going to pick them (and Jackson wouldnt be near my team) than start them and play them 65-80 mins. You dont need two back rowers on the bench, I dont care if your 20 best players are edge forwards its completely stupid.

I'd like to see NSW go back to the 2 hookers with a true utility on the bench. Craig Wing was always brilliant there for us and could turn a game in an instant when he came on. Plus whilst his defence has been great, Farah has offered little in attack over the last few years. Austin would be the best guy for this role. He is all energy and a 25min cameo from him would be a hell of a lot more dangerous than Josh f*cking Jackson.
This is a quality post and I think your side is one of the better ones I've seen (aside from James Maloney and no Greg Bird :p). I'm not really sure though why you say that NSW need a play-making option from fullback but then go and pick Tedesco. I think Moylan offers a lot more in that regard. Tedesco is primarily a ball runner in the more traditional style IMO.

Very odd comment considering I think most agree his attack is actually pretty good. It's certainly his defence that lets him down and has done ever since he's been in first grade.

Croker would be another Merritt IMO. I don't think he's the worst center going around, but I'd pick Jennings, Dugan, Morris, ferguson, walker, Roberts and wighton ahead of him. So there, if 7 centers go down I'd be happy for him to get a blue jersey.

I wouldn't describe him as a defensive specialist, but people really haven't let themselves assess his defense properly since his early days.

Does he get beat in games and give up tries? Absolutely. There isn't a centre alive who doesn't, even Josh Morris concedes plenty of them too. His defense is NO WHERE near as bad people suggest. Defensively he's not a liability anymore, he's a stock standard defensive centre, except when he plays the Warriors, he really struggles with Hurrell... But then he absolutely blankets guys like Hodges, Gagai and Roberts so you take he good with the bad

I saw plenty of games last year where he was deadset terrible. Jamie Lyon (who admittedly is top shelf) made him look like a school kid at Canberra Stadium.

Jamie Lyon is the best centre the game has seen in 2 decades
We're ruling out a lot of people out of origin if the criteria is "can't have been made to look like an idiot by Jamie Lyon", including Jennings, both Morris boys, Dugan and the Queensland centres.

Also, Jamie Lyon made him look silly for 10 seconds of that game, Croker the other 79 minutes and 50 seconds Croker shut him down, but you're probably right. I mean the LU collective certainly trumps Wayne Bennett when it comes to football ;-)

FWIW i wouldnt pick him for origin full strength. Not over Ferguson, Morris, etc. But if the situation arose where we had 2-3 backline injuries, his form was good, and the Queenslanders are naming Dane Gagai at centre, id consider him as an option opposite Gagai who he's taken to school every single time they play.

Ferguson and Morris should be considered the no question starters if healthy imo... just interesting that arguably the greatest coach in history contradicts everything LU thinks about Croker.

Croker has always struggled to shut down blokes bigger than he is with a bit of power about them. He shuts down a lot of centres though. He did a number on roberts last year for example.

Obviously he has work to be done on defence but if he can lift his game on more powerful blokes he will be prettt complete imo. Not outstanding but good

Centre is not really a problem spot. NSW have centres coming out the arse. Same as fullback. In fact NSW can have good options in every position except the halves.

There is a vacancy for Origin star in the halves and I'm hoping Moylan is going to be able to take it.

We've had gun centres for years.. just haven't had any decent halves to give them quality ball
