Barring Moylan Mansour and Frizzel ( has he played for Aus)
All those players have played and won some very big games
Maybe Daley is onto something

Frizzell has played in big games for Wales! The World Cup 2013 opener in Cardiff in front of 45k. Italy smashed them though

Mansour played for Australia and Moylan was part of the squad that toured in 2014. They were also both part of the 2014 Panthers side that beat the Roosters in week 1 of finals.

So even the less experienced players have played big games before.

so there you go
as long as Dugan isn't at centre FFS.. they should go alright with 2 games at home.

Well they're both excellent but I think Maloney would handle the pressure better

Some say there are points in this squad, but it really is going to be another bash and barge game plan imo.

btw, the 17 has already been named.

Morris is playing this weekend which means Moylan will be FB, Dugan RC. Gallen @P with Woods, Bird MF, Jackson RF, and Frizell and Walker are I with Tamou & Klemmer. Fifita misses out.

Maloney is a great GK, but Reynolds to date is statistically the best of all time by some margin

Imagine we lost the game by a goal when we had a guy with credentials like that in the team. You can't not choose Reynolds as goal kicker

Reynolds hasn't looked great lately kicking goals. Kicked at 66% last week and 50% the week before. Not including penalty goals which are usually gift 2 points when taken.

He kicked one from the sideline in the 80th minute to win the game against Parra just a couple of weeks ago!

If he was in a contest with Thurston, then sure, you go with Jono. But he's the best in the NSW 17 with a very f**kin handy back up in Maloney.

Only reason Daley may go with Maloney as his starting goal kicker is to ease any potential pressure on Reynolds considering it is his first Origin game.

For example, Todd Carney's first Origin game he was used as first choice goal kicker and he did not cover himself in glory from that perspective kicking 1/3 and 2/4 in Origin's 1 and 2 in 2012. Maloney having already played Origin and done the goal kicking knows what kind of pressure to expect.

This article from Ninemsn has some pertinent details about the goal kicking debate -

Reynolds likely for NSW goalkicking duty

By AAP

Adam Reynolds is favoured to add the high-pressure goal kicking duties to his role as chief NSW shotcaller in his State of Origin debut.
And that is just the way the South Sydney star wants it.

Blues coach Laurie Daley has two highly accomplished goalkickers at his disposal for the State of Origin opener in Sydney on June 1 in rookie halfback Reynolds and Cronulla star James Maloney.

Daley says he is undecided as to who will fill the crucial role of goalkicker.

However James Maloney said on radio on Tuesday he was happy for Reynolds to step up to the plate. And the Rabbitohs premiership winner wants the job.

"I would like to do it," Reynolds told AAP.

"I'm not too sure what Laurie's ideas are as to who is kicking goals, but it is a job I would like to have."

Daley said on Wednesday he was yet to consider his kicking conundrum. But he ruled out the option of a kick-off to decide the role.

"That is a good question. The honest answer to that is I haven't thought of it or chosen one yet," Daley said.

"I am not really quite sure. Probably not a kick off. I will have a look during the week and see whichever one is comfortable doing it.

"We are very lucky to have two good goalkickers."

Maloney and Reynolds are the two leading goalkickers in the NRL and nowhere is goalkicking more important than in Origin.

Trent Hodkinson's cool conversion of his 71st minute try in Origin II in 2014 handed NSW their first series win in nine years. The season before a missed Maloney conversion was the difference between the sides in the decider.

According to statistics provided by Fox Sports Stats Reynolds' career goalkicking percentage of 83.5 per cent has come from 364 goals from 436 attempts. That betters Maloney's 603 goals from 752 attempts at 80.2 per cent.

However this year Maloney's 61 goals from 78 attempts at 78.2 per cent have bettered Reynolds' 19 from 26 at 73.1 per cent.

Since the start of last year Maloney has landed 167 goals from 206 attempts at 81.1 per cent.

In that time Reynolds has nailed 72 kicks from 91 attempts at 79.1 per cent.

Maybe, but Jackson has a lot more versatility. It is what hurts these one position players like Frizell. You like your bench apart from your prop reserve to cover a number of positions

Yep. Josh Jackson can plod from a few positions, not just one.

In what world, universe, realm or dimension is Josh Jackson superior to Tyson Frizell as a starting right second rower?

Why are you talking about the bench? He would be starting.

And Jackson showed last year that he has no versatility. He may have played in the middle, but he was one of the worst players on the field.
