New stadium - 2025

With the infrastructure, region growth and sociodynamic changes in the greater west, any new stadium which can host multiple sport/entertainment events will be a huge drawcard.

Lets not forget that ease of access will make the stadium very attractive.

Having lived in Penrith for most of my life, I firmly believe this will be a very dense area come 2030-2040. Any investment now, will have a huge impact long term.

It should be a no brainer BUT it is the government we are talking about here

If there is a new stadium, it will be an entirely new purpose built stadium with nothing remaining from the current ground. It will be all seater, no hill, no grass. I Think anywhere between 25,000 - 28,000 in capacity Slightly less than Commbank.

Probably the council still
That won’t happen.

Penrith Council have been in negotiations with the Westfield Group to sell off there current chambers and build the new chambers on the land (flood plain) behind the old ambulance station and extending to the retirement village and east side quarter.

The push for a new stadium may have been initiated by the former liberal state member but the new government recognise its significance to the region and I think you’ll find they are supportive. It’s just been delayed and will not be open for business until 2025 at the earliest and sadly built on the current site rather than the more expensive but best option which would have been the Paceway site. I think the overall losers may be the Paceway because there site is never going to be sold to developers so they lose out all round.

On Ch 9 they are talking about upgrade of Leichhardt Oval subject to getting some government funds perhaps half going to the upgrade of Penrith's ground. Nice one not. They say it's in Albos seat as well.

Or Accor in Homebush.... like seriously its right next door to their concord CoE....
Accor is a soulless dump. Whichever moron approved the CoE to be built in Concord should be fired from a cannon into the sun. Pick an area ffs and stick with it.
