Was super raw when he debuted in 2001 and didn't really become an effectively consistent first grade performer until his final season in 2005. He was mainly good for a lot of highlights off the bench before that. Probably played the best years of his career at Wigan.

Current deal 430 million
New deal 530 million minimum

extra content via women’s comp, pre season comp, end of season comp team 18,
and a proper recognition of the value of the dolphins

if anything we should actually get way way more
Current deal is $402million

You didn’t answer the question, current games are worth $47mill each, why would the 9th game be worth double this?

You know if they renegotiate the tv deal that what current games are worth are irrelevant don’t you ?

lmao
So is the ninth game why we’ll get $100mill more, or just that it’s a new deal?
You seemed to be confused what argument you are making here.

The last deal only added around $10million cash a year compared to the 2018 deal. But the next one will get $90mill more than that raise. Why? Only way we see that sort of increase is if theres a number of bidders.

Why is it when people talk tv deal numbers your brain turns to mush ?

the tv rights deal is up for renegotiation. 100 million is actually conservative. I’m expecting way way more

I listed before the extra content that will be available as well as the fact the rights will be going up for competitive bidding

Ok so now we’re getting somewhere lol
extra content, yes probably worth around $30-40mill depending on what fox really already paid for dolphins.
the biggie will be competition. If there’s a number of bidders then yes we should be seeing over $500mill. But like skynz increase, that’s nothing to do with increased value of the game, just competitive tension.

That’s because we don’t have a broadcaster committed to the game more broadly. The fumblers and 7 (and NAB) form an unholy alliance which we lack.
I reckon the ideal return for Seven's investment will be if their local-team AFL coverage rated well enough in NSW/QLD to warrant being permanently on the main channel.

This is further proof that the Giants and Suns are a godsend for NRL. The AFL would hardly relish a scenario where Swans and Lions games are on the main channel, but Giants and Suns games are on the secondary channel. It would only throw into sharper relief the failure of their newest franchises. And therefore cast extra doubt on their expansion plan for NSW/QLD.

The Giants and Suns are acting as a huge drag on the Seven/AFL project. God bless them.

The Lions and Swans were more than enough for Brisbane and Sydney. The only real benefit to having the Suns in AwFuL is they bring Victorian tourists to the Gold Coast during the winter. The weather down in Melbourne is really shithouse. The Queensland Government makes good money from the Victorian fumbleball fans who travel to the Gold Coast to see their teams beat the Suns.

Afl was on the main channel

then the ratings tanked

their ratings are often on par with their crowds (Sydney ratings)

The Pre-season challenge added to make people care about trials.

That will have a sponsor by then and ads to the rights.

The NRLW CBA allows for a 20 week comp in coming years.

There will be some sort of International comp post season too.

A NRL game is worth just over $1m to TV. So the new team brings in $30m minimum alone, Not sure location changes much. Given production costs for NZ or Perth

disingenuous as always.
I dont think we'll get a bad deal if we go to open market with a ninth game in another capital city and there are competing bidders. If Pistol Pete decides to extend again before 2028 with the incumbents then we'll get a bad deal.
