New Zealand warriors are the richest Rugby club in NZ.
Another team would simply be #2
Undeniable.

The funny thing is that statement shows just how little you understand the NZ sporting landscape.

You actually think that matters. It's funny and sad at the same time. I feel sorry for you.

Players are contracted to NZR, they pay them not the franchises. Being the "richest club" means nothing outside the insecure.

And you are still clinging to the vain hope of a second NRL team in NZ. No bid, no tv money, no juniors but you still think it will happen... I wonder what colour the sky is in your world.

Bahahaha like the NRL hasn't said that before. Funny how they still haven't put anu investment into NZ to keep the talent flow going.

The most interesting statement in that entire article being " the code needing to source new talent, evidenced by the Dolphins drawing players from a shallow talent pool". Here here was you saying things were all rosy in Aussie.

Simple fact is contact team sports are dying. Even in Australia according to your article... If you have to rely on a country a quarter of your size to supply talent you are in serious trouble.

I like the part the " clinging to vain hope" part ...
How embarrassing 🤦‍♂️

Actually maybe the dumbest part was.." no tv money "
Bro🤦‍♂️

"However, the recent broadcasting deal with Sky NZ saw TV rights income increase 70 per cent to over $30m a year until the end of 2027."

And once again " clinging to vain hope "
This article states " New Zealand clear front runners " !!!

The article came out in May. Anything more recent? I would like another Kiwi side but to suggest it’s a fait accompli is pretty naive.

Also, Sky sport don’t have any competition any more. They are not going to increase their TV deal by 70 per cent next time when there is nobody else bidding against them. It is a pretty simple supply and demand argument.

Bahahaha That is going to tank when the deal runs out. You claim Sky will still pay more than it has to simply because you want them to, is ludicrous. They will pay only what then need to to outbid the next competitor. Which is no one.
There will be no new tv money next deal, the Sky deal will cover the Warriors costs and no more.

And how many of these articles have come out since spark announced they were going under? Zero.

How many bids have we seen from NZ? Zero...

The warriors are among the lowest rating teams on fox and nine. And with no sky money to pay for a new team what are the chances fox and nine will support another NZ team? Zero

Front runner.. yeah right

The deal is until 2027 ...
The recent spark thing will be long in the rear view mirror by then and nobody knows what the tv landscape will look like at that time. All the NRL can do or ever could do is increase the quality of the product.

That's only five years you dimwit. And the tv landscape wont change. With spark the latest to only last a couple of years, sky wont have any competition. The NRL will know this, they wont create another basket case team like the Warriors that wont be able to pay for itself.

Its so simple even a halfwit like you should be able to figure it out.

They don’t need to increase by 70 percent

all they need to do is cover the cost of their grant then it becomes free content for the arlc to sell to Australian broadcasters

a second nz nrl team is inevitable

indeed with the collapse of super rugby I dare say kiwis would welcome more high level club rugby to watch each week

You are getting dumber by the post.

With no sky money to cover another NZ team, the cost will have to come from Fox or Nine. And guess what extra content they would prefer. A team that wont rate in Aussie, or a team in a new market for them. TV money controls the game. They will want an Aussie team if they have to pay for it.

And you keep claiming Super Rugby has "collapsed". Funny they have announced games for next year already. Guess like everything else in this thread you got another thing wrong.

Another contradiction. In the same paragraph 🤦‍♂️
First it's only 5 years..
Then Spark only lasted 2 years..

So 2 and a half Spark years 🤣

Apparently 30 million a year is ..
No sky money. 😂
Interestingly sky's broadcast deal is already enough to support 2 franchisees..
No wonder the NRL are looking at NZ.

Comprehension clearly isn't your strong suit. If you paid for any education, you should ask for a refund.

You do know what a comma signifies don't you? perhaps you should ask your 9 year old, clearly the brains in your family.

You're so dense they should use you head as housing foundation.

30 million will only be for another five years, then it will be back to what it was before this deal. Barely enough to cover the Warriors.

By the way, how will a CHCH based team play without a stadium if its introduced in 2 years? The temporary stadium isn't up to the NRLs own standards. And the new one is years away.

I understand your upset.
You've been embarrassed countless times but you did all that by yourself.
And you'll just keep doing it the longer this goes. best put the bottle down and get some rest.
