24k warriors.. 25k is capacity...
What am I missing?
You’re missing the 6-7K extra seating that was installed at the ground because of the ABs playing there increasing capacity to 32K. Watch either game and you’ll see a stand at the north end that wasn’t there at other Warriors games this year.
The seating is available for Warriors games though it will be GA so the capacity will be reducedc slightly but it’d still currently be over 30k.
Warriors management weren’t particularly happy about it because it takes up the spot where the popular fanzone area is usually situated and they didn’t need that many extra seats.

1905? haha .
Sport didn’t really become big business until the 80’s/90’s when pay tv started paying big money.
if soccer had taken off as professional sport became Mega business in aus then both Rl and afl would be minor players.
Look at the support international foootball gets, and jnr participation rates, if that ever got translated into professional top tier comp it’s game over for other Australian codes.
Soccer was colloquially known as "soccer" in Australia until the 1990s. People hated the game and viewed it as "unAustralian".

If Perth got a side:
10k to 15k at the ground.
15k watching at home.

NZ 15k to 20k at the ground
100k to 150k watching at home

A Perth team would generate about 1 10th of a NZ team.

Then there's the bucket loads of talent that NZ could unlock vs Perths 0

There's a massive derby match twice a year that would be the most watched game in NZ.

Perth is a dot on the map and that's all it has.
But guess what? Wellington is a dot too 🤔
And so is Christchurch...
Another team in NZ makes it a truly national sport in NZ 😍

he’s not wrong is he though

he may be, he may not be.
Like I said unless he is Nostradamus that his opinion based on very little other than bias and hope.

I can just as easily say Perth will avg 16-18k to NZ2's 10-12k, with Perth tv going up due to the increased interest in RL to 100k we get for origin, whilst NZ2 will draw less than the warriors being they will be in a smaller city dominated by union.

But Id be guessing with my bias slant, just like he is lol

Warriors get from 125 to 250k for games so that’s not guessing

juniors they win

tbh they beat Perth on every metric bar crowds

do they really? Where's the link to these figures?

fans, money, tv interest, actual interest in running a team.
Aside from that NZ2 got this lol

Yeh the fans are marching the streets of Perth for an nrl team
cant recall any fans marching the streets for any future club inclusion except for the Souths mob who soon abandoned their club again after reinstatement.
60k at origin and a predicted 40k plus at next months optus games tells me fan interest is not our problem in the West.

ps You forgot to send the link to where these Warriors tv audience numbers came from?

Nz2 isn’t based off one off games

every game outside Auckland this year has has amazing crowds

are you really saying a 40k crowd is all Perth locals ? Lmaoo

The only issues I can see for NZ2, is that it will cannibalise the Warriors supporter and sponsorship base , and that there is no extra TV revenue to be gained.

That's been debunked with the Dolphins. Broncos attendance and engagement grew as a result of the Dolphins.
Having a direct rival drives engagement. NZ Having another team will drive the Warriors to another level.

It's way too early to know that definitively.

Like most expansion teams when they first enter a comp the Dolphins fanbase is absolutely heaving with poseurs and fair weathers who are only there because of the hype. Those people will start to disappear once the novelty starts to wear, then we'll get a better idea of the genuine size of their fanbase and what we can expect out of their average attendances going forward.

I wouldn't be surprised if their average attendance drops by anywhere up to roughly 10k over the coming decade, it really depends on how successful they are on the pitch. They need to cement a single home ground as well (i.e. play all their home games at Suncorp), but that's a side quest.

Though I'm sure that the Dolphins presence has had some impact, I don't think it's reasonable to suggest that they're the major reason, let alone the sole reason, that the Broncos numbers have jumped up.
The Broncos numbers have been significantly boosted by this being the first time that they've been genuine contenders in a while, and their averages this year are similar to what they have been when they've been successful in the past as well.
