At the moment the spend is on NRL clubs Top 30 squads

Then its grants to Tier 2 ie QRL, NSWRL - which has not been communicated yet

Then it goes to the local clubs as one of their revenue streams

Not sure if NZRL gets any funds from the NRL
They do

over 2 million pa

Nrl is the elite competition

if you aren’t in that you are basically meaningless

prior to the warriors entry into the nrl league was a joke in nz way behind union

the threat of the warriors joining the nrl and rai the all blacks caused your game to go professional

the warriors are an amazing club

anyone who thinks they have detracted from nz rugby league is a nut job

it’s not even worth debating

you want me to keep naming all the star kiwi players developed by the nrl

and playing in the Australian junior system is the best way to get the kids up to standard

indeed the warriors having their junior sides in our comp is a massive benefit

since 1995 the achievements of nz rugby league have been amazing

two World Cup wins

should’ve won the most recent one

losing loads of players to the islander nations and still being one of the best nations

loads of excellent players in the nrl of kiwi heritage

More lies. Packer caused rugby to go professional. Not the Warriors.

Your post is just more evidence that you are stupid beyond belief. You know nothing about League in NZ.

The Warriors effectively destroyed Domestic league in NZ. The fact you keep parroting the lie that they didn't shows just how big a scumbag you are.

There is ample evidence to back up my claims. Yours there is none.

1.5 mil to the NZRL it is more like WA-NRL, or SA-NRL or Vic-NRL affiliated states funding rather than say QRL or NSWRL

How is the LC infrastructure like in NZ? Does it exist

Rugby world went professional because of warriors - interesting take

Should we be surprised a bunch of NSWRL fans want NZRL to go with a proposal that is detrimental to them but benefits the Sydney clubs?

The ARLC is planning on killing the Queensland Cup to bring back reserve grade and colts. @siv and his mates are in favour of it, despite the incontrovertible fact there is no public demand to watch three grades of football on game day. No money will be generated from it and the competitions will require significant investment. That's the sort of decisions we get from NSWRL fans.

If we didn't have 17 NRL clubs receiving $5m on top of the salary cap then we could finance a professional domestic competition in New Zealand to provide better pathways for juniors. The Queensland Cup could be expanded into a national second division to serve the same purpose across Australia. But alas, the idiots running our game are willing to kill the Queensland Cup go make a few hundred imbeciles from Sydney happy. It will make it extremely difficult for juniors from rural Queensland to forge a pathway to the NRL. It's the same problem New Zealanders not based in Auckland have experienced for 20 years.

The worst thing to happen to our game was the formation of an ARLC that's practically run by the clubs.

There's five main metro areas in Australia. If you want to make in any profession you move there

This stream of poor punctuation and ranting has nothing to do with the post you were responding to.

Forgot Ringo wrote songs. Can't be john, Paul or George they too talented..
Grotd not a bad guy tho, just Queenslanders have chip on shoulder
I'm disillusioned with our game because it has lost its way since the ARLC was formed. The Queensland Cup has been treated like an afterthought and moved down the ladder over the last decade. The weekly televised game was shifted around to accommodate the Sunday NRL game. Now it's not on FTA TV at all and only accessible via a streaming service. The decision to bring back three grades on game day will kill it off altogether. When that happens my passion for the game will nosedive. The most frustrating thing is our game could and should be so much bigger, popular and richer than it is, but never will be due to self-interest from the NRL clubs.

The Queensland Cup provides a pathway for players in Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Toowoomba and Tweed Heads to play in front of NRL talent scouts. If young players have to move to Brisbane just to get noticed then that will lead to many dropping out of the game.
