New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

And I am sure that will help The Warriors in Auckland. But the rest of the country needs money. An extra 30 players a year is only a drop in the bucket. Money for 300 would be better, considering the conversion rate from teenager to graded player and graded player to First Grade. where is that money coming from?

Again.

Where here does it say only in Auckland?

Naah you are off topic. You are talking about the BRL. We are discussing NZ here ‘which is a country of its own’ to quote you! Hahahahaha
I know you're just trolling as you've burnt out all of your Centrelink money on grog and drugs. It must suck have nothing to do until pay day. But I'll bite.

I was talking about the impact of raiding a competition. It was in response to a post from @Te Kaha about a second NRL team in New Zealand having a disastrous impact on the local competitions. The addition of the Broncos in 1988 and talent raid by Canberra and St George decimated the BRL and led to its eventual death. It is a real life example that supports the point @Te Kaha made about talent dilution.

It's not my fault you're too stupid to see the equivalence. There are 10 year olds who have better reading comprehension than you.

I had to point out that New Zealand isn't part of Australia because you started going on about the Australian Football League not having a team in New Zealand when I asked you to name one competition that mirrors the NRL's blueprint. It's an example of you deflecting attention to something totally unrelated when you don't have a point.

Nah you’ve done it again. Completely off topic. Keep off the pipe mate!

Wait so now there is players for another team in NZ?

There are currently players, Not a lot at NRL standard, and even less coming through. But if you think a team can be successful based on numbers alone you might be in for a shock.

The bit in the article that came from where it is in conjunction with the AUCKLAND Rugby League.

There is plenty over here, They should be over there and would be if there was more opportunties.

No it is an alliance between Cook Islands, Tonga, Samoa, Fiji and Moari to get more players into the game.

No it's not. From the Article.... - "the umbrella organisation for the New Zealand arms of the rugby league bodies for Cook Islands, Fiji, Niue, Samoa, Tokelau, Tonga and the New Zealand Māori. " And by "New Zealand arms" read Auckland, where most of the NZ population for those countries are.

Clearly says some of the biggest comps in the country

Depends if the Sydney clubs who are currently using those types of players are happy to give them up.

Furthermore, no one has claimed there aren't players for another team. Not sure where you got that idea from. (Although it should be noted that the Warriors barely have a majority of NZ players).

Also, why don't you post links instead of little phone pics?

Sydney clubs are at the schoolboy comps all over the place. Arrangements like posted earlier gets those guys signed before those tournaments.

Covid also played a big part in that, The plan is to run a Flegg team next year too. These guys likely will be locals.

The article was posted earlier and is easier to highlight the exact part you refer too

No it’s not lol

they could’ve been lost to union or sport all together

the warriors have limited spots available so if a good kid wants a chance he can go elsewhere

Plus the way the warriors have been for almost a decade it’s better they go elsewhere

carrying the warriors made rts lose his interest in the game

he should’ve stayed at the roosters he’d be winning comps still

have a look at how the roosters are developing manu and suaalli. The warriors would’ve ruined them
How on earth can you think that good players being removed from the competition is not detrimental to the competition? If the NRL and you want league to develop in NZ you'd be looking at ways to ensure that young players contracted to Sydney clubs stay in NZ for the competitions. Some kind of system where they go to Oz for camps but play in NZ comps - and as I've said before too I'd let them stay in 1st XV rugby too as it will better prepare them for professionalism.

Also, who has mentioned The Warriors? I would advise any young NZer not to sign with the Warriors.

On RTS, which is an aside anyway, he didn't want to live in Sydney, he wanted to return home. Also why on earth are you bringing up Suali'i? He's Australian.

Have you come up with some PI's for the Kiwis team yet?

As I said earlier that has been happening for years.

I wasn't referencing any article of yours in particular, I just find it odd you don't post a link and title. When I first joined this forum I was admonished for not linking to an article properly.

Nrl is the elite competition

if you aren’t in that you are basically meaningless

prior to the warriors entry into the nrl league was a joke in nz way behind union

the threat of the warriors joining the nrl and rai the all blacks caused your game to go professional

the warriors are an amazing club

anyone who thinks they have detracted from nz rugby league is a nut job

it’s not even worth debating

you want me to keep naming all the star kiwi players developed by the nrl

and playing in the Australian junior system is the best way to get the kids up to standard

indeed the warriors having their junior sides in our comp is a massive benefit

since 1995 the achievements of nz rugby league have been amazing

two World Cup wins

should’ve won the most recent one

losing loads of players to the islander nations and still being one of the best nations

loads of excellent players in the nrl of kiwi heritage
