New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

We saw the same effect in almost all regional teams not just Warriors

Players dont want to play in part time pathways once they get a taste of the professional pathway

Only issue NYC has was the lack of NRL-RG

There is enough money in the game now

Then you can feed something like $12-15 mil into running part time pathway in each QRL NSWRL and NZRL excluding rep player/coach payments

Professional pathways flows down though, This point is lost on the x killed some comp.

Warriors have 36 in their SG Ball squad all will train together, Those that don't make the final 17 will go and play locally and improve that standard

Disgraceful... the Swedish chef is an icon!
Fair call. My apologies. Can’t argue with that. By the way in my countless years playing union the Māori were always the hardest blokes to play against and the best to play with. Nothing but respect.

Sheesh, imagine if we actually suited to playing rugby.

The blokes I played with didn’t have a preference. Just wanted a game in a place where opportunities were scarce. We only had small comps of either. But we had a lot of fun.

Correct and when those 36 graduate to Flegg another 36 will step in. And so the cycle continues

What then becomes important is money in Tier 2 to keep those fringe players in RL longer

The dream of becoming a All Black will always be there eg RTS. But being a Kiwi RL player needs to be on par

Pre Warriors days

There were 2 options move to another country to play Rugby League or stay at home and play Rugby Union.

The more options anywhere that players can stay home and play is a good outcome

I was more just taking the piss out of Wb. Maori are extremely well suited to rugby, the first bona fide superstar in rugby was Maori - George Nepia.

Leave it for the fatties

jumping in lineouts or rolling on the ground is a waste of their abilities

those athletic abilities are displayed better in the running game

when William Webb Ellis picked up a ball and ran with it (lol) he was thinking of rugby league

I get it. All a bit of fun. Chatting about it brings back a lot of great memories of some of those blokes who I haven’t seen in years or who have passed away. That’s the scourge of age.

You have to let that pass, being Australians they believe they know more about peoples outside their country than those actual people. He couldn't even spell it right, but he still "knows" better.
Pot, kettle, black.

You’ve spent this whole discussion making assumptions and sweeping statements about Australia and Australians from a position of complete ignorance.

It’s actually funny how much you fit into the stereotype of the superior elitist Kiwi.

You really are good for the LoLs, you remind of a particular type of league fan in the 1980s in NZ, that mostly no longer exists now as we're mature enough to appreciate multiple different sports without acting like a 13 year old claiming our game is the bestest.

Also, Polynesians are the fattest people on the planet.

Most Kiwi's don't share the hatred of one code or the other. Most like both, some love both, but in this place that makes you a "traitor" or a "troll". While all will have a preference, the hatred spewed in threads like this of other codes is anathema.

And Māori don't get the "tribalism" aspect that Australians preach about clubs, we have our own actual tribes.

Islanders are genetic freaks

Māori players aren’t as atheltic in terms of build generally but have amazing skills

ignore the point all you want the ball in play time in union is 36 minutes

the number of penalties blown the game rarely flows

if you are the kind of player that wants to run with the ball and beat the defence then that’s obviously rugby league

If you want to test yourself by having someone running at you from ten metres away and you have to take them on that’s rugby league

survival of the fittest not survival of the fattest

Turn and turn about, clearly you have never been a fisherman.

Yep that was my experience. I never picked up a League v union thing at all.
Also agree about the tribalism bit. You learn to keep a bit arms length about that out of respect.
We had a lot of Samoans and Tongans play in our club as well (apart from the usual poms, Irishmen etc). For a club like that to function with so many diverse cultures you need to show respect as well as maximise the fun.

One by one, everyone see Te kah for what he is.
It’s a shame he can’t just leave this thread alone

like can’t we discuss the prospects of growing our game in New Zealand without some troll abusing everyone with every post

we’ve heard what he has to say we get it move along
