Saying "yeh, crowds are way down, but so what?", seems a rational well thought out response.
Crowds tend to be a direct reflection on TV audiences.. except for Rugby where crowds vanish but TV audiences grow ??? That's an incredible achievement.

It`s definitely odd though, especially when you compare it to the other struggling code in this country, namely the A-League. The only two sports that haven`t received a post-covid bump in their crowds have been the A-League and super (lol) rugby. Even the Aussie basketball competition has been breaking its` own crowd figures post covid. Two Adults cost $40 in tickets alone for one game. SkySportsNow cost $40 a month for as many people as you can fit into a room. Are you really that stupid that you can't see why that argument is fallacious. Especially after a couple of years where going to the game was at first forbidden and then still considered risky. People get used to what is easiest. Watching a game live on TV is cheaper, warmer, and for most more enjoyable.

So the argument that people have got used to watching it at home in N.Z. rings a little hollow or certainly at least very odd.
If I had to posit a theory I might argue that yes people continue to stay at home and watch the game in healthy numbers, but the scepticism surrounding the legitimacy of that competition is meaning that this is failing to convert into people buying tickets and attending matches. Treading on thin ice I`d say.
Great that TV numbers are up!Ahh selective quoting... how very childish... it is "yeah, crowds are down, but so what? TV viewership is up, that is more important.".. In the context of Super Rugby of course. A comp that is only worth 8% of NZR's income.
Great that TV numbers are up!
Care to elaborate?
Are they up on Sky?
O streaming?
Both?
Stan ?
Up from the peak last year?
Or just up from the covid low?
Up in fiji? Or Samoa?
No figures? Hidden like any crowd that isn't good.
Not 1 journalists... not 1 ! Quoted the figures... why would a" journalists " not do that..
Because they don't have them
If they were up across the board, they would be more than happy to share those figures. Fact is, it's purely spin. They've compiled them all together or done some bs so they can say growth while anyone who had access to those figures would see a stark decline under the smallest scrutiny.
No we don't get the figures.
The only people that matter in regards to those figures are the broadcasters..and they won't be accepting a mate of a mate crap for your next deal
So good luck
Where are the numbers they released? You really are reaching.. It's getting to you that your thread has turned out to be so very wrong.
Stan? Fiji? Samoa?.. it's clear dumbarse that its NZ numbers from Sky. Since you know, it's an NZ audience that they are writing for. You continue to ask about, and post about irrelevancies, things that are not related to NZ, because that's all you can do.
Of course since Super Rugby accounts for 8% of NZR revenue and less than 20% of broadcast revenue your claim about "crap for your next deal" is as worthless as your posting. And Since its SKY releasing the numbers to the journalists, then your "crap" deal scenario is as stupid a thought as you have had.
That young fellas folks flew over to Brisbane for magic round , watched their boy debut in front of 50KSo Dolphins grab a guy from 2 or 3 tiers under Super Rugby. 18 months later scores 2 tries on debut... no talent there though
Where are the numbers they released?
data ? you toffball twatYou really are reaching.. It's getting to you that your thread has turned out to be so very wrong.

twust usAsk those journalists. their names are on the articles. Of course that will devastate you when it turns out to be true.
why would you have ask a " journalist "Ask those journalists. their names are on the articles. Of course that will devastate you when it turns out to be true.
no room in the lounge rooms in NZ
At least we know why there's so many empty seats... they went home to watch it on TV.
You see in this strange world of RU ,that how it works.
It's always good news week lol
why would you have ask a " journalist "
Their job is to find those figures and write about it!
If they had it , so would we!
This is a tightly held secret for a reason buddy. They fudged it.
I can tell you one thing for sure mate when the super tournament was cancelled due to covid I remember very clearly alarm bells going off in N.Z. because people were getting sick of the sight of the same teams playing each other over and over, and in all fairness that would be understandable. And again an Australian with "especially when you compare it to the other struggling code in this country". NZ is not Australia.
And its entirely possible that "scepticism surrounding the legitimacy of that competition" is effecting crowds, But you know what, it doesn't mean shit. If Aussie Rugby continues to be a basketcase it means that a new "super" comp happens. That super comp will STILL continue to get NZ viewers, because it's Rugby. Super Rugby is a means to an end. The end being developing players for the actual cash cow for NZR, the All Blacks.
Once again An Australian who doesn't understand what happens in, or to, Super Rugby isn't going to cause a "massive blow to NZ Rugby". But because you guys don't understand NZ, its all you can grab on to.
Ask those journalists you inbred hick. their names are on the articles. Of course that will devastate you when it turns out to be true.
