This is just more waffle. Surely you can come up with something concrete? What's this evidence that's everywhere?
So you loop back to the start, then complain about the thread looping and going around in circles...
I'm trying to figure out if it's just a troll or you actually have no self awareness 🤔

Seems to me the gap is closing between the two codes but remains huge. In revenue generation, player numbers, club numbers, prof club numbers and general public interest union remains well ahead. Will RL ever catch up and overtake it? Only time will tell us that.

Great to see the international game finally gain some traction after too many years of putting all the Eggs in the origin basket.
But a guy saying “sure why not” when asked a question doesn’t really back up the sensationalist headline.
League has a loooong way to go to get close to what Union has with its international game. Pacific is looking pretty good at the moment but really need to spread the umbrella further before making those claims. Europe looks to be the next easiest to boost up but where do we have to go after that realistically?

Exactly even if it moves from a 10/90 to a 15/85 split the gap is still massive, still good for league in NZ to be upping its game. As said a million times there’s plenty of space for both to thrive, one doesn’t need to take out the other- why limit your options for entertainment?

Bigger than super rugby …. Easy
In Aus? Absolutely.
In NZ ? Warriors are top dog but it’s the only local option vs 5 local options for super rugby so of course those are likely lower- rest of NRL not so much interest outside of the anti Warriors brigade.
Most are probably watching both their super rugby team AND their NRL team it’s not one or the other

Super rugby and nrl get pretty much the same tv ratings

Crowd average the warriors would have the most out of any rugby club

Tv deal is worth 32 million whilst union is 100 million including all blacks test

So it’s a lot closer in terms of the gap

Tv ratings for both are on par with each other

Nz2 means league overtakes

Been to both and it’s much easier to follow a game of league at the stadium than it is a game of Union as you miss a lot of what’s going on it’s more convenient to watch on TV. Similarly AFL and Soccer are much better to watch live than on tv

I didnt think we got regular tv ratings from nz?

whilst warriors have the biggest singular crowd avg super rugby still draws more cumulative people than nrl in nz

yep their tv deal is worth over 3 times as much, how’s that close?

apart from crowd avg by club I can’t see one metric that nrl is close to union in in NZ? Maybe tv audience but I suspect if you include all games and events it isnt.

I agree, that way 2 mins after a union game kicks off you can go to the garage and do something more interesting instead :)

Take out all blacks tests and the super rugby tv deal is similar to the nrl

And that’s one nrl team vs five nz teams

Actually scratch that

It’s only for the first ten rounds

Since the super rugby season ends up being way shorter than the nrl the nrl aggregate would’ve smashed super rugby

Super rugby 15 rounds vs nrl 24 rounds

Why would you take it out? They’ve bought domestic and international rights same as they have done for Rugby league.

My point exactly, league is a long way behind, 5:1 behind in fact in prof sports club representation.

For rugby league to have any hope it’d take the nrl pumping in $30-50mill plus a year to grassroots and $60mill plus nrl costs adding another 2-3 clubs. Can you see that ever happening? That’s basically the revenue nzru operates on.

Oh how cute, you have me on ignore, I'd do the same to you but you post so many tik toks about NZ rugby and rugby players that I wouldn't see otherwise. Nothing set me off, as I've said before this thread just loops around, sometimes I can't be bothered arguing with your bullshit, sometimes I can. I had a quiet moment at work, saw your buddy's claim so thought I'd see if he could back it. He didn't.

I don't care about ratings in Oz in a thread about NZ.

I don't care about Tongans going crazy over a team of expat Tongans in a thread about NZ.

And to your other post, do you think more 16 year olds and under play rugby or league in NZ?

He doesn't have you on ignore, it's just the excuse he uses to not respond to people after they destroy every argument he makes.
