Patriots will go after him
Joseph Addai RB IND
1 Hr Indianapolis Colts Comment
Colts re-signed RB Joseph Addai.
The move was made possible after the Colts released CB Kelvin Hayden and signed Peyton Manning to a cap-friendly extension. Manning lobbied for Addai's return, but the 28-year-old running back looked out of gas in 2010. He appeared in just eight games, battling neck injuries, and hasn't been an explosive runner since his rookie season. Addai is still a good fit for the Colts' pass-happy offense, however, and should be a reasonably productive RB2/3 as long as he can stay healthy. His return takes some of the shine off of rookie Delone Carter's sleeper status. Donald Brown is further buried on the depth chart.
Cullen Jenkins DL GB
2 Hrs Green Bay Packers Comment
Eagles signed DE Cullen Jenkins to a five-year, $25 million contract.
So much for Jenkins' market drying up. Thought to be seeking top dollar this summer, he'll get it from a team that's gearing up for a serious run at the Super Bowl. Jenkins is on the wrong side of 30, and missed five games as a member of the Packers last season. There's no doubt he can still get after the passer, however, and he should be a big part of what is now a totally revamped Eagles defense.
Justin Bannan DL DEN
2 Hrs Denver Broncos Comment
Rams signed DT Justin Bannan to a three-year contract.
The Denver Post's Mike Klis reports former Broncos HC and current Rams OC Josh McDaniels played a part in luring Bannan to St. Louis. Bannan should be given a chance to start on the inside for the Rams after tallying 35 tackles, one sack and forced fumble for Denver a season ago.
Osi Umenyiora DL NYG
3 Hrs New York Giants Comment
Disgruntled RE Osi Umenyiora has ended his barely day-old holdout, and is en route to Giants' training camp.
Facing a $30,000 fine for each day he didn't report, Umenyiora has apparently realized he has almost no leverage in his pursuit of a new contract. He is not dropping his demand for a pay raise or trade, however, and says he won't speak with GM Jerry Reese "ever again." Umenyiora's holdout is over, but he may continue to be a distraction.
Chris Carr DB BAL
4 Hrs Baltimore Ravens Comment
Ravens re-signed CB Chris Carr to a four-year contract.
Carr, 28, started all 16 games for Baltimore last season, recording two interceptions and three forced fumbles as a slot and left cornerback. He'll likely be back as the nickel corner this year with Lardarius Webb at 100 percent and Domonique Foxworth tentatively returning. Carr also drew interest from the Jaguars, 49ers, and Jets, so the Ravens did well to retain him. He's one of the more underrated defensive backs in the league.
Man Philly is getting everyone, now Jenkings. They did trade Bunkley to the Browns for a 5th round pick.
Plaxico is visiting the 49ers today, they are also showing interest in Malcom Floyd.
