My wife was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia, and we are in hospital now, having our baby induced.

My wife was initially against an induction, but it's for the best!

Hope all goes well!

you're in the best place mate, according to her indoors its not uncommon and easily treatable now days

good luck mate

goes away as soon as the baby is born

Thanks, mate!

I feel really weird - I am so excited to welcome my son to the world, and to see my wife stop physically suffering, but I am also so scared to become a parent!
Yeah I was shitting myself all through my wife's first pregnancy. Second time around it was more a feeling of resignation. But my boy is two and a half now so the hard part is nearly over, and he's been a much easier toddler than my first kid.

It’s scary as hell beforehand, but a lot of that goes away as soon as the kid is born. Well it did for me anyway. All you think about is how awesome it is to be a parent...until the sleepless nights start coming and then it’s all f**k this, but that all dies down again eventually.

Congratulations mate. Good luck with it all.

Thank you so much!

I'm blessed that I don’t have to start my new job until October, so the first 6 weeks or so of sleepless nights shouldn't affect me too much.

But it's really cool!

Sleep when they sleep. That’s the best advice I ever got.
Also help your missus out as much as you can. Change most of the nappies. Do all the bathing. Help our with feeding if possible. We think it’s hard for us but it’s always harder for them.

Thank you for the advice!

That has been my plan - help in any way that I can.

I had a job up until 2 months ago, when the company decided it was time for me to leave; but I was lucky enough to get a new job, starting in October, so I can relax, and help pit as much as I can.

Not many people get this opportunity, so i am blessed.

How do you know it's harder for them? They've just had nine months of having their hormonal system prepared for dealing with the insanity of a baby. You haven't.
