With the Fumbleball GF ratings down 14% this points to a victory for the NRL GF.
Any other result will show that the fumbleball ratings are fudged.

And how much were the NRL figures down? And what were the raw number comparisons without dodging the point?
It's clear the AFL daytime grand final ratings are way above the NRL nigh time TV ratings figures!

Spoken like a true fan of the taxpayers grabbing imported game from England and Ireland.
Come back when your code can survive without taxpayers money.

Im no fan if the "training run' as I am seeing how its falsely claiming to be a tough game when it suits then at the same time convincing mums its the way to go for their kids. If you look at the true origins of Aust rules it was a training run for Victorian cricketers during the winter months in the late 1800s. Im the son of a soccer player and played rugby league by chance as it was across the road from my home whereas the soccer ground was across a railway line and further away.

if you must know moron
the NRL GF was down about 200K on 2016
while the football fan one was down over 600K

3.399 Million for the NRL
3.524 Million for the AFL

a difference of just 125K

the only thing clear is
you know nothing .....

Certainly looks like the 'training run' was more than the NRL?

Why are you even on here? If you like AFL post on Big Footy.

I dont like it!? Some of you blokes have no clue. Lets hope you dont have anything official to do with the way rugby league is being run! At the moment things are not good for rugbyleague and I'm discussing such issues in the hope that progress will eventually be made. The game is regressing and some of you dont like realising this truth? Im amazed!

You're a f**kwit and you're an AFL fan.
All you talk about is AFL. This does qualify you to be a Rugby League journalist to be fair, you should contact news limited. The AFL will pay you to hang shit on Rugby League and wank over AFL.

Denial! A very poor and insecure trait. I'm a better fan of rugby league than u are. I actually care for the game and can see its making some big mistakes.

I'm not denying anything. You're the one in denial. An AFL fan posting on a Rugby League forum is the height of sadness. At least Weiners is open about being a troll.

You are so wrong! Would an AFL fan refer to its code a 'training run'? My word their are some diabolical reads in this forum! Amazing. Il point this ridicule out to some of my sports mates for a laugh! Incredible stuff.

Townsville, Brisbane power outages ruin NRL Grand Final

The Courier-MailOctober 1, 20177:51pm

With their team making the decider following a Cinderella story run through the finals, Ergon Energy said there was an “unplanned” outage in the Townsville suburbs of Castle Hill, Northward, Idalia and Belgian Gardens.

While they are still working to identify the fault in the system, Ergon said about 1200 customers were affected.

Fans took to Facebook, making their feelings known.

“ This is disgraceful! We are missing our home teams grand final. When should we expect power?” one Cowboys fan wrote.

“WOW! One of THE biggest nights of the year for most Townsvillians and a couple of suburbs lose their power at the worst possible time!” another said.

More than 2000 Brisbane homes also lost power as the NRL grand final was getting underway.

Hundreds of Energex customers in Banyo, Burbank, Nudgee and Rochedale are without power as the North Queensland Cowboys and Melbourne Storm do battle.

A rogue animal is believed to have caused the large power outage in Brisbane’s north as 2000 households were left in the dark.

At 7.50pm, an Energex spokesman said a “bundled cable overload” was to blame for the outage in areas around Banyo and Nudgee.

It is understood Energex has since returned power to over 1000 households.

Energex believe the rest of the damaged cable will be replaced by 9.30pm, restoring power to any remaining households.

Meanwhile, a light drizzle in Brisbane has not dampened the spirits of Cowboy supporters tonight as hundreds pour into the Caxton Hotel.

Decked in blue and yellow, footy tragics are shoulder to shoulder, shouting and whistling support for the North Queensland Cowboys as they wait for kick off.

Melbourne Storm supporters are pressed along the sides in a show of silent confidence but are clearly outnumbered.

Cowboy supporter Graeme Findlay said it doesn’t matter how big the margin is.

“As long as the Cowboys are in front at the end, it doesn’t matter what the score is,” he said.
The AFL must be behind this

Killers surprise with Aussie cover
Richmond's historic victory over the Adelaide Crows dominated Australian television over the weekend.

With a big weekend of sport across with Seven hosting the AFL grand final on Saturday and Nine hosting the NRL grand final on Sunday there was as much a battle between the networks as there was between the sportsmen.

In the end Seven trumped NIne with an average of 130,000 more people tuning in to watch the AFL grand final over the NRL premiership.

Just over 3.5 million people tuned in to watch the Tigers take on Adelaide Crows on the Saturday afternoon, with the Tigers storming home by 48 points and putting an end to a 30-year premiership drought.

NRL clear winner based on the fact there is no promotion whatsoever in Sydney. The upside over the next 10-15 years is massive for the NRL whereas, for AFL - really where else can they expand their TV audience out of? They've reached saturation. AFL is an Australian game - that's it.

NRL due to their dormancy (ha funny that) can add more teams (Brisbane/Perth) & then further into international waters. Expanding further into NZ should grow the game further & destroy rugby @ the heart.

The AFL declare a public holiday the day before the GF for god's sake - what does the NRL do?

Has anyone else started noticing all the ads in the supermarket - AFL milk, AFL weetbix, AFL that. Like seriously for them to have that coverage and still not win by 1-2m is ridiculous. Always wondered why the NRL just gives them a free ride?
