NRL faces major turmoil as clubs threaten breakaway league

Good on you PR, at least that has some actual thought & balance. Something the angry old man at the deli has zero idea about.

Another thing to remember when we look at judging of performance is where the Commission started from. It was always going to be a cold start given the fact it was a brand new commission formed after a tumultuous period of stagnation & mismanagement (Gallop/News).

No matter what, the best laid plans in the first few years after formation were not going to be straight forward or easy and its not as if you simply make a strategic plan and then follow the steps to get there. The broadcast deal is one example of that & I suspect that it took a great deal more time and energy by the commission/Smith than envisaged.

Add to that the way the game was structured in the past and the web of self interest that pervades leagues stakeholders and no matter who or what is in charge of leading the game forward now they are never going to have a silky smooth ride of things.
I'm probably younger than you. But being wrong is your thing so stick with it.

Titans have moved into their new facility (in relation to which clubs have CofE)

NRL CEO Todd Greenberg and ARLC Chairman John Grant will both be on hand on Tuesday morning when the Aquis Gold Coast Titans High Performance Facility is officially opened, members of the public invited to see the full range of facilities and equipment for the first time.

Only three members of the current Titans squad – William Zillman, Ryan James and Anthony Don – ever trained at the ill-fated Centre of Excellence at Robina, the majority of the squad only knowing the makeshift facilities first at The Southport School and then Pizzey Park, home to the Burleigh Bears, the past two years.

So the Titans club screws up its administration to the point of bankruptcy 2 years ago. The ARLC are forced to step in and take control.

Since then the club has improved on and off the field with the club improving its 2016 result to make the finals & under the ARLC guidance improving its corporate governance and moving closer towards an eventual sale.

But history shows, you wont hear anything about this from the stupid old man at the deli or his only mate rupert with whom he shares his cranky old biased hatred for the game. According to him he is still right and always was, as the game is stuffed and the ARLC have mismanaged everything even from a time before they were in control.

One of the very reasons the money is not in the NRL Bank account.They have supported both the Titans and the Knights, cleaning up outstanding debts ,continuing to pay players and management;
And at the same time putting money into infrastructure such as the Cows stadium, NSWRL Cof E.

When the NRL eventually flog off those clubs, there will be more money in the Bank.with more money, more opportunity.

Is that what I said?

Ignorance AND putting words in other people's mouths.

The "he hates the game like Rupert" type crap usually gets a run when the facts make the circle jerkers look like the dopey merkins they are. News Ltd chose the commission these tards support! Three of them were News Ltd employees. But when they can't hack the facts they try to call anyone who points out how shit the commission is friends or Murdoch. f**king hypocrites.

We know why Grant has rejected multiple offers to buy the Knights and Titans now. He needs their vote to keep his snout in the trough. There's your independence. The commissom buying votes to keep his place on the gravy train for another year.

And we all notice how you avoid responding to the FACT the Titans are in a better position NOW than when the CLUB was in charge of it.

But you get straight back on your stupid old angry man horse and flog your tired hatred for the game & the ARLC & ignore that.

Must be demoralising sitting in that deli with one half of a stale crusty bread roll and no soup to dunk it in.

But but but you don't read my posts.

Hahahahaha

Liar.

You like Seinfeld: Putumayo credibility bye bye-o

I've supported the sport my whole life and have plenty of credentials to show for it. Some lying tosser on the interweb saying I hate it because I know an incompetent administration when I see it carries all the weight of someone who says he doesn't my posts... but does.

It doesnt take much to understand that you fail at supporting the game. Your never ending diatribe directed towards the ARLC and the game is testament to that.

I would imagine your credentials to be possible having been put in charge of the meat raffle once or twice. Nah it was probably just once. And maybe you shouted obscenities at a ref a few times from a hill in front of the attending families.

I notice you chose not to refute the one very small example of the ARLC administration working for the Titans club. Nice one old man deli.............way to support the game.

It's pretty much sums up these twats when they think supporting the game is condoning an incompetent administration that is now scrambling to cut a deal so they can keep their nose in the trough for another year.

This is why RL has gone nowhere in 100 years. The admin look after themselves at the expanse of the game but don't dare criticise or "waaaaah you hate the game".

The ARLC is NOT the game. This is exactly what Mascord was pointing out the other day - f**kwits who try to define what "the game" is in completely deceitful ways. The ARLC is shit. Absolutely appalling, and people are finally starting to realise it. But they are not rugby league. The sport is great. The admin in woeful. Blindly supporting an incompetent and conflicted admin is NOT supporting the sport. It's doing the exact opposite.

The fact these sychofants have to use the fact the Titans aren't quite as shit as they used to be as proof the commission is competent says it all. The NRL is spending the game's money on this club and rejecting any offers to buy it so that John Grant has more power. In fact this clear case of conflict of interest is the thing keeping him on the gravy train. He knows the vast majority of clubs don't want him there, he knows they don't want the incompetent CEO he appointed there, but he wants another year of free meals and travel and a big pay cheque so he better hang on to those two clubs and their vote. It's dodgy RL admin 101.

No. The problem here is twats who are old outdated has-beens who consistently bag the game and its administration based upon cherry picked debatable points and yet refuse to acknowledge that the world isnt perfect and that the ARLC has a mix of commendable and not so commendable results given its short time in charge. Your focus is and always has been on bagging the commission at any cost with the current self indulged rhetoric that you are always right and that justifies it.

I note you choose to deflect the point about the Titans even after it was stressed it was one small example. I also note you choose to ignore what Perth Red listed as a balanced view of some of the many other factors.

Like the soup you now miss, suck it up old man deli. You have no balance in your irrelevant bitching and moaning from the cheap seats which makes it clear to anyone the importance you place on supporting the game.

Cmon mate you know if you bag the NRL in anyway you're just news ltd stooge with an agenda. How dare anyone want a competent admin running the game? Don't these people like hugely increased operating expenses for similar or worse results? Don't they like uncertainty surrounding important aspects of the game like the salary cap? Don't they like mid season rule changes(which are changed back two weeks later)? Dont they like the inconsistency that plagues the product? Don't they like recruiting a club Ceo to NRL hq and paying him big money to do f**k all except help secure a highly sought after recruit for his former(and future) club.

NRL club grant increases

2011 $3.85mill
2012 $5.85+ $1.15mill tied funding
2013 $7.1mill
2014 $7.55mill
2015 $7.7mill
2016 $7.7mill +$1.5mill
2017 $7.7mill + $1.5mill
2018 proposed $13mill

Of the $3mill advance in 16/17 half has to be paid back by the clubs to the nrl from 2018 onwards. This is from the tv advance money of $50mill, meaning the nrl will have spent $26mill of the tv money before the contract starts in 2018.

I chucked this up as it is pretty amazing that in 8 years clubs grants will have gone from $3.85mill to potentially $13mill!

Gallop, the News Ltd stooge would never have been able to deliver that. The large increase in broadcast revenue was a massive step in the right direction and the game is all the better for it.

But you would never know it listening to the shrill, selective, incessant, mud slingers who are seemingly incapable of expressing a balanced viewpoint.

So you're argument is now, "no one's perfect"? And that's an acceptable defence for the clusterf**k we have now.

Brilliant.

Talk about accepting f**king mediocrity. You bang on about me being "old" which is bullshit but then condone more of the same old incompetent admin the game has always had with its nest feathering, wastage and power plays. Like I've said, f**king hypocrites. This is the shit that belongs in the past but these f**ks support it and call people "old" if they don't.

Just to highlight this, these clowns support a bloke who is doing deals to save his job. Not to help the sport, to save his job. And they support this. No one wants him there. But he wants his cash and perks, so he's horse trading with the game's future.

That's because News owned the NRL you tard.

And they selected the commission you support which is taking that money and pissing it away by the bucket load. That's how the game is "better" for it. They have more money to waste.

And News and Nein still get what they want. In fact they're getting even more than they used to. Friday 6.30pm games? Yeah, great bit of admin there.

Yes and how many seem to forget this fact

Steady growth is the way forward on the Salary Cap and NRL Grants

But $14 mil grant and $10.7 mil salary cap in 2021 not 2017 makes way more sense

You are quite the moron. My argument is that there has been a mix of commendable & some not so commendable results. I said exactly that. I am balanced. I dont accept that its a clusterf**k because I am balanced in my thinking. You are clearly unbalanced.

You condone more of the same old incompetent admin the game has always had

That is just so funny. I mention Gallop as being a useless unacceptable past head of the game. I am very pleased he is elsewhere pretending to lead soccer. It wouldn't surprise me at all to hear you sprout that you thought he was he was good for the game.

Deflect, yell, bitch, make up sh!t. Its all you have been doing since well before the ARLC was formed.

Problem is when you have end of year results like clubs have had for last couple of years and clubs saying we'll spend what we like to win Then what's the nrl to do? It can't keep bailing them out of the poo because they are spending way above their revenues

Why don't you present to us all your version of the NRLs operational expenditure so we all can see where and on what you will spend the revenue and then we can also see where its all being pissed away.

That's as opposed to your incessant bitching from the sidelines and the baseless, constant criticisms. Come on old man deli......where is your quality input to help the game ? Quick sticks. We are waiting.
