I'm sorry. This league stuff is too one sided now. Penrith thrashing the Warriors and so on.

What can be done to make the weaker teams better? I know the obvious answer is to get better players and coaches, but no one of note really ends up at the weaker clubs.

It has become a joke to me and games like the Panthers v Warriors not worth watching.

The next game should be much better - Roosters v Storm but who cares for these teams - just their fans I suppose?

I guess in all sports you have this situation so got to live with it.

(Just trying to convince myself to stay interested, that's all guys).

I'm watching the game hoping for swinging arms, broken jaws, and plenty of suspensions.

I feel similarly DD. I used to religiously watch each game each week but I actually let my Kayo subscription expire a while ago.

It's not that I'm disinterested - more just disillusioned. Increasingly I was finding that I was becoming infuriated that games were no longer a fair contest between two teams but were instead decided by PVL's latest whim and the PR machine that constantly defends obviously contrived results from the ref's and the MRC/judiciary.

I know this isn't the case but it certainly feels like matches are decided in some office during the week and so I choose to just check out the final score after the game is done. I don't need to invest the 80 minutes watching a foregone conclusion.

I've no doubt I'd feel differently if the Dragons were one of the anointed few but as it is, I struggle to muster up any great enthusiasm for such a farce. It's a shame because league has been a constant since I was a child but this just isn't the same game anymore. And I don't mean the fighting or three grades on the same day or whatever other trivial tweak - it's just the simple lack of a level playing field.

There’s another way to look at that. The teams outside the top 8, maybe excluding Canberra and Manly, have all been run like amateurs for years. They all deserve to be flogged. Terrible planning, salary cap management, poor coaches and terrible rosters. Especially us, Tigers, Bulldogs, Warriors, Titans. They all deserve to be at the bottom of the ladder. The top teams are ruthless and manage their teams excellently. It’s all down to management by the people running the clubs. No team is successful by accident and no team is crap by accident. We’re crap because we’re run by a board of rank amateurs.

Agreed since 77. This is another way to look at why there is unevenness in the competition amongst many other reasons.

Denis Preston posted a good article today titled "The Cap" and is worth reading.

Rank amateurs,
That's just being to kind.
We are run by a management team of self serving parasites & fraudulent imberciles. The decisions they make do not benefit the club, they are aimed at self benefit.
It's not what we can do for CLUB, it's what the CLUB can do for us.( club management)

Agree , big and they push it to the limit ..... then again the top teams seem to get away with a lot more ...... {example} Kerr for one IMO lacks aggression , and that's why he is not regular first grade ......
That knucklehead Nelson whatever his name is , has pushed over the limit for mine . Last night’s incident with Tedesco was his 3rd forearm to the head and yet once again no action was taken .

Even Bellamy had to get up to shout his profanities away from those in the box , he was that pussed off with him . However the semis are only 2 weeks away and there is no way that the NRL would weaken one of the competitions premier teams .

It will be all swept under the carpet as usual as they know full well that they - or the refs can take it out tomorrow on that mob that plays in the jersey with the big red V - now they are a team of 1st rate thugs . 😳

I have only now read that both JWH and Nelson are facing $3000 fines - unless they decide to fight the charge where 2 weeks off shall apply if unsuccessful .

But as you have said Illusion our boy Molo sent off for a high tackle and subsequently a few weeks on the sidelines .

Why , oh why doesn’t our Uncle Bruce issue our club with those big dollar cheque books like the Rorters and Storm have is beyond me .

I think that's the fourth fine Hargreaves has been issued with. When oh when does he deserve to miss some games?

These two posts have so much truth associated with them.
Yes Danny I believe so . One thing about JWH tackle on big Nelson was that it was Nelson who charged in with his forearm raised and connected to JWH’s head .

In my view JWH merely retaliated to the Storm’s players hit . To see Nelson lying on the ground with his hand over his face , was only for the refs benefit in the hope that Hargreaves would be given his marching orders which he indeed did .

Still the judiciary must get rid of this fine system that is in place , as I don’t see how it prevents the players doing the same illegal play in the following games .

This is no deterrent whatsoever , as long as their clubs continue to pay the fines , then their illegal play will also continue .

How many games have either one of those big lugs missed this season due to their thuggery ?
