Right, there's only one side to the story and it's yours.

I'll believe it when the facts come out.

bobmar - do you find it at all possible that MANY MANY people have had unpleasant experiences with Telstra? Or are you truly that naive? As for what's said on this forum, do you really think Telstra are going to shed tears over some comments from nobodies like us on this forum? :?

Or that Strathfield give a sh!t about your comments?

What ever the facts behind this mess, it is sad for the Dogs and I hope it is sorted out in their favour.

You do that a lot don't you - when you have absolutely nothing in reply you use dumb emoticons and yet another dumb comment.

There is two sides to the story - the Telstra/NRL side and the Bulldogs/Strathfield side. Not my side, not your side. You can't deny the facts that have come out - your best defence thus far is "awww...come on...bend the rules for us...be a pal".

Face it...the Dogs f***ed up royally in one way or another.

Since you needed to imply that Telsta couldn't gibe a rats about the opinion some forum member may post in here, I am sure Strathfield equally could'nt give a rats arse about your opinion. So whats the point in having a shot at someone else?

Keep up the deflections Timmah, you earn your tag as a nob in this forum well

Yes it's possible but I also believe that if a company is willing to unashamedly offer their name and money to support rugby league they deserve all the support they can get from league fans not the sh*t that has been dumped on them in this thread.
I also believe some people have had unpleasant experiences with Optus but I don't think AFL fans would be rushing to their forums to dump sh*t on their sponsor because of it.

The AFL set-up is so much better. The Toyota AFL Premiership doesn't have an exclusivity agreement... hence we see Mazda sponsor the North Melbourne side, Geelong covered in Ford gear... hell, Telstra even have their finger in the pie with the AFL's website through Bigpond... yet 3 sponsor Essendon IIRC.

This exclusivity stuff is rubbish and it's crippling our game. Especially given it's not Optus we're promoting, it's Strathfield, whose revenue is less than 15% from mobile phone sales & service. :x

Why don't you do us all a favour and follow AFL then.

You know what's depressing? Every thread somehow leads to how the AFL is better than the NRL in some way.:x

Stop f***ing whinging! This whole 15% thing is bulls*** as well - Strathfield's front page is littered with Optus deals and promotion. They even have kiosk stores that just sell - you guessed it - mobile phones and accessories.

Stop blaming the game and start blaming your management. So desperate for a sponsor they negotiated with someone they know is not permissible under the rules they operate under.

And you know what would cripple the game? A sponsor who ponies up $12 Million to sponsor the game pulling out because they aren't being looked after.

Yes, they shouldve checked with the NRL first, but they negotiated for months. If they knew they wernt allowed as a sponsor why negotiate in the first place

 Trying to suggest we deliberately negotiated with a supposed competitor to create this situation? f**king moron.

My bet (pure speculation) is that they thought they could convince the NRL to bend the rules for them. I don't buy that they didn't understand that they sold Optus mobiles - a very very basic background search of the company shows that they sell mobiles (in their website description they say they are "STRATHFIELD - Mobile Phones, Car Audio, Digital Media..."), that they are described as an Optus Premium Dealer and they also sell Vodafone and Virgin. If there was any doubt at all they should have referred to the NRL, asked if it would be permitted and either negotiated or ceased.

I can't believe they even went as far as an announcement without passing it by the NRL first. What sort of operation are they running there?

Will the Bulldogs wear the Strathfield jerseys on Monday, or has the NRL suspended the meetings/contract?

Nervous laughter I assume...

You tell me dimwit - how does a club make an announcement on a major sponsor without getting permission from the NRL? Who's fault was it - the NRL's? Anyone's but the Bulldogs?

You are embarrassing yourself. Just shut up now.

Sorry, you don't dictate when and where I post.

Your position on the club became clear in your latter posts... you made some pretty solid points early on but now you're throwing speculation around and pretending you know plentiful facts about the case when you clearly don't.

It'll all come out in the wash, hopefully to our advantage.
