You'll find someone else brought it into it:

But you didn't bother reading that, did you?

 Stopped reading at "if". When you have to use baseless hypotheticals to prove your point, you've got a weak argument.
Its true though the bulldogs would be declared the losers in finals games, why arent they in the normal rounds

So we should apply all rules for finals matches to normal rounds now?

Let's have unlimited golden point... let's knock teams out that lose...

No just the rules that should be all season long....;-) would have been funny to see how the ladder turned out if the 39 points the dogs lost were handed to the teams they lost to.. Probably wouldnt look much different tbh

Bulldogs must lose the two points for the breach...

If the bulldogs had of been attacking in that last set, and the Panthers put on their 4 reserves to defend their line, they would have lost the points...

Confusing - please , give me a break....

Even if your trainer has trouble counting, surely 13 plus 1, equals too many...

Panthers now demanding two points from Bulldogs match

By Dean Ritchie | March 25, 2009 12:00am

PENRITH have applied to the NRL for the two competition points taken from the Bulldogs after Saturday night's controversial match at CUA Stadium.

The Bulldogs fielded 14 men and have been issued a breach notice by the NRL stating the club will lose their two points.

The Bulldogs won the match 28-26. After initially denying they would seek the two points, Panthers officials applied to the NRL for the points this afternoon.

Yesterday the NRL's chief operating officer Graham Annesley said the Panthers would not get the two points.

"We have not overturned the result of the game. The records will show the Bulldogs won the match, " he said.

"We have, though, signalled our intention to deduct them two competition points as the penalty for breaching our rules.

"Both sides will keep their for and against and the points won't go to the Panthers."

So has the Broncos CEO, he also said the Dogs shouldn't lose the points.

Without the Bulldogs the NRL would have no media coverage, be thankful NRL!

Des Hasler's word probably counts against the Dogs these days, given how the NRL would have looked upon his contribution to Stewart being picked instead of stood down.

I don't agree with Penrith getting the points in this situation unless they were in front and the 14th player took part in the play (ie lined up in attack) that resulted in the try.

But I DO think the Dogs must lose their 2 points for f**king up. Maybe that's why Penrith have taken this step, so that taking the two points from the Dogs seems more like a compromise rather than the extreme?

How can Penrith think they deserve the points. There is no way they will get them.

Maybe all the clubs can have a bidding war and the proceeds to charity
what would those points be worth ?

What are two points worth is a very interesting question, and one which would have different answers for different clubs at different times...

Let's say the Dragons are up by 4 points this weekend with 2 minutes to play and the Sharks have the ball, why wouldn't Ricky Stuart send out his whole bench to try and get the winning try if his club only have to pay a fine..

Perhaps the sharks with no money were not the best example...

It is the principle - There can be no grey areas IMO...
