What is up with the Sharks this year...just cannot get a read on them.

To be fair, I can't get a read on nearly any team, apart from probably us and the Dogs, Raiders probably fairly easy to summarise as well.

Genuinely don't know who's going to win the spoon, either. I thought the Eels were specials but they looked really cohesive in lapping Manly, the Knights are a bit of a basket case, no way Penrith go from 4x to wooden spooners....Titans? That would be a disgrace if it was them.

We've had in-depth discussions on boxing here. There's fans, former fans, never really fans, and so on. I don't want to see Williams and Gallen punch each other around the head.

Apart from the money why do they do it?

Gotta love the conflicts of interest in rugby league, Gould running a club and with a voice on TV weekly, and has been grooming Galvin since his debut with the “best ever” chat. Surely plays a part in this whole situation long term

Have always thought having a player manager in Anasta giving his opinion on everything a few days a week has a smell about it too

Yeah, agree, the media and the game too incestuous…

Just seen a clip of Gus on 9 this afternoon after the Galvin news broke. According to him:

Galvin has said he wants to join the Dogs;
No signed deal yet;
Still work to do, including “legal matters with Tigers”;
Hopes to have more clarity in 48hrs.

On what’s changed since he said Galvin won’t be at the Dogs:

At the time he was contracted till end 26;
‘27 was too long to wait on a player;
Wanted to nip speculation so made an early call;
But everything changed when Moses contacted them last Tuesday to say they were negotiating a potential immediate release.

All sounds very plausible but… yea right.

Apart from the tough Raiders win it was a round of surprise thrashings.

Look at Penrith. It's not an anomaly. It's approaching the halfway point of the season. Look at us, we can lose a game and be in third place. Why? Because we've been banking points.

First time since 1980 apparently that you find Penrith in last place after 12 rounds

Also just read that if you put $10 on every underdog so far this season, you’d be up $749

Sunday afternoon was traditionally the Warriors sweet spot at Mt Smart. I remember those days with deep nostalgia. But I tell you what, it's an unteneble wait these days. I don't know what's changed, attention spans could be one thing.

Bring back our Friday night spot and bring it back now!

I find that Penrith stat surprising. Over the past 45 years they haven't always been as good as the last five!

The 12pm (2pm nzt) kick offs were great in the mid 2010's. Dry ground, sunlight, end to end footy.

We used to put some big scores on in those slots, peak Johnson Hurrell Manu days.

But yeah I'll take the Friday 6pm game now, get it out of the way nice and early

I saw a stat the other day that only 5 times in our 30 year history we've been at a better record than 50% wins. Or maybe I read it wrong. EDIT - that was after 10 games, I think
