Five weeks in and the excitement keeps building, with another 'Battle of Brookvale' being the one to watch. It's nearly 15 years since that infamous 2011 game and the bitterness continues.

Tonight though, it's always bitterness with Sticky and now his Raiders are losing he's ramping it up. Flano's 'flogs' (not quite, but I like the line) are also losing, and they didn't coup big Addin to lose, did they?

Friday, believe it or not, but coach Cleary is getting called a few names on Panthers' forums. The Cowboys will enjoy Sydney's warm weather. Is there another upset due? Penrith don't have that 'home ground' advantage either.

Rabbitohs v Roosters, Sydney fare. It's been going on for generations and it always good. Easts to win (that's their motto) because Souths are still missing a star or two, although the big one's back.

Saturday, don't let this destroy your tipping like last week. Parra will rally at home, on a sunny day, big blue and gold turnout, why wouldn't they? Dessie's Titans are a delight when they attack but Redcliffe are still a handy side, who are getting a bit desperate on the ladder, so call this one even.

Brisbane v Wests. Well, it's Benji's big test. He blew up last week but if the Tigers' resurgence is real then they'll trouble the Broncos and maybe win it. If they do win then they're the real deal, 2010/11, all over again.

Sunday, Gifty v Blairsy, lest we forget. For Warriors fans it's a bit bitter too, as Glen Stewart should've possibly missed that year's GF, in which he starred. To finish it's the Bulldogs hosting Newcastle, and all eyes on Ponga, I'll be watching if his eyes drift east, towards the Tasman Sea. I hope they do, actually. What a pick up he'd be.

Enjoy!

If Ivan coached us to five grand finals - winning the last four - in the last five years but found himself 13th on the ladder so far this year...an 'FO Cleary' thread would be imminent.

I'm giving Panthers fans a bit longer though.

I8-all, well into the second half. Canberra need to get more action at the Cronulla line. Well, duh, but it's true. You'd back the homeside if they do.

Edit: Young binned for a high shot. Sticky's got a wild one there. But no real intent and we'll see some binning this week...

... Canberra need to cease the one-out running. They think they're conserving energy but all they're doing is getting dominated. They're behind on the scoreboard, remember.

A 7-2 penalty count favouring the Sharks could be crucial in a tight game.

...Seb Kris finishes what could be try of the year. A million hands involved, with a minute left.

24-20, Raiders. Final. A thriller.

Terrible binning. Luai should have been binned last week, but two wrongs don't make a right.

Big Addin ran for over 200 metres tonight, but was still well contained by the opposition. Great player but it's no disaster not having him this year.

Early days but if the Sharks start falling flat let's see if he gets restless too.

told ya it was a good week for the Warriors to have off. NRL officials are so predictable...

The scrutiny isn’t always fair imo, but Hynes isn’t doing himself any favours tonight
The Sharks are a bit rooted with Hynes, unless someone wants to take him off their hands to play fullback (which is a chance). He's never going to become that 7 they wanted him to be, or at least if he gets close, it'll be many years down the track

How many players have actually made the switch to being a side's main playmaker without a lot of experience in that role? Because a few clubs have tried it (Metcalf, Hynes, Knights going to go with Brown, Jayden Campbell) without a lot of success.

Jahrome Hughes being the main one I can think of, doesn't hurt when the rest of the spine is Papi, Munster and Grant.

Tom T"s an option for Manly as the right-sided half they need next year. But to me he just seems too tall. But what do I know? Height doesn't matter, does it?

Try of the year sorted already?

I feel for Hynes a bit, had the great season, was treated terribly in origin, and he's not meeting the expectations on him... he feels to me more a fullback or 6, but I still think he can become the 7 - Hughes has done it, and Cronk too, Lockyer kind of but wasn't the primary play maker when he first moved to 6... I think you're right though, while Hynes hasn't done it, he's not surrounded by the quality that both Hughes and Cronk were in the spines...

Just seen Blake Ferguson on Tik Tok, doing something called 'battles'... it's essentially begging for gifts(essentially money).

Was quite sad to see.

Not sure why people gift for this type of content, but whatever

By the sounds of it, Blake Ferguson is quite lucky he isn't in jail or had the holy lizard beaten out of him from the club he was at a year or two back.
