@Get Rid of The Donkeys knows f**k all about NQ and it's local comps if he is happy to write off regional teams.
@Colk Rockhampton is 750km away from Townsville, its like saying let's scrap Penrith because the Raiders are in the same region
We're talking about restructuring the Queensland Cup into a second division to cater for areas that will never have their own NRL team. Try to keep up with the discussion.
Laughable bullshit, ruining all that history for some weird geographic autism.
What is your obsession with LGAs? Nobody follows a team based on there rates notice.
The BRL clubs have changed their identity in numerous occasions. Souths were known as South Brisbane in 1908 and rebranded as Carltons towards the end of WWI. They rebranded to Southern Suburbs in 1933 and were known as the "The Lions" before becoming "The Magpies" in 1959.

I've been to Davies Park in West End and Brandon Park in Acacia Ridge to see Souths play. Their crowds make up about 50 people, with just 10 or 20 making the effort to watch from the sidelines. The adjacent volleyball and soccer fields draw more interest. Davies Park is dilapidated mess. At the northern end there's a rundown turn style sitting idle that hasn't been used in decades. Along the western terrace there's a decades old wooden bench. The change rooms still have the 1990s Southern Suburbs Magpies logo.
Devils played under the name "Pastoral Grammars" from their inception in 1923 until 1933, when they became "Northern Suburbs" because the competition became district-based. Players had to live within a team's district to play for them. The exception was Pastoral Brothers Leprechauns, who only selected players who went to a Catholic school.
The other day you wrote off the BRL as a competition that no one gave two f**ks about towards the end of the 80s. You've said there's no interest in a second division. Now you're pretending to care about the history of BRL clubs you know nothing about and saying Townsville should have the Cowboys and Blackhawks. Make up your mind on what you want instead of arguing for the sake of it.
Eastern Suburbs played as Coorparoo between 1917 and 1933. Last year they rebranded as Brisbane Tigers.

You wouldn't know shit about SEQ. There's very distinct geographic rivalries between, Brisbane, Logan and Ipswich. I've spent half of my life in Brisbane and the other half in Logan. The two cities are different and I've seen the bitterness that residents from the two cities have for one another.
