Look I don't sound negative but what competition allows a team to win just 1 game and make the semis.

You could almost argue a top 3 system in a 6 team comp means 50% of teams not 66% plays finals which I feel should be aim.

Minor premiers go straight to GF and 2v3 play to get in a GF.
Only 5 rounds allows for it…and things won’t be perfect until the comp is built up…

Additionally why reduce the games in the finals? Adds income to the comp

Why not have a longer comp then?
The depth is there just yet…

don’t forget the NRL clubs, have their top 30, plus have NSW cup, Ron Massey (players do come from this grade when there are injury crisis), 21’s and to a certain extend SG ball to source players….all who have pretty much have had NRL training exposure..

The females just don’t have this depth yet….they have the gale which is only 19’s and think the Harvey Norman comp which is ends in July and only 9 rounds.

Anymore then 6 to 8 rounds, injuries start affecting the squads and quality of footy…same reason the origin isn’t 3 games..

give it a few years. They are building nicely…

Good game ladies. Gutsy win. They just couldn’t find the AB fullback. Shame, she has fast feet. They need to fix that to get her more involved.

Unfortunately they're adding another 4 teams next competition. The quality is going to reduce massively

Look where she positions herself in attack. She doesn't often get into position to get the ball. With how quick she is, she needs to get into first receiver 15m out and she'd be near impossible to stop

What a gutsy team the Roosters are, despite no womens league, or teams, they manage to craft together a team of all stars. Amazing given the salary cap is the same for all teams, so it’s a given that the 2 best centres in the comp that were lured from other NRLW clubs are playing for peanuts similar to their NRL counterparts. Poor things lost a decent player and were forced tho sign the Titans player of the year as a replacement. Magic beans are a wondrous things.

Given they earn so little, perks like employment would go a very long way to getting a player to relocate. Much like junior rep players.

When your Parra came into the NRLW comp for the Delayed 2021 comp earlier this year they signed Kennedy Cherrington / Filomina Hanisi/ Nita Maynard / Simaima Taufa / Botille Vette-Welsh all from the Roosters

Need to read more or do some research before posting one has to say.

All teams have the same cap of $350 k for 24 players and can sign 2 marque players who can sign multi year deals and be offered jobs outside the cap. Other players can only sign 1 season deals - min wage is 8k

The Roosters have a Women's side in the NSW Women's premiership - Central Coast Roosters plus a side in Tarsha Gale Cup under 19's comp- Sydney Roosters that won that comp this year.

The NRLW Roosters side lost 6 of their starting 17 from the earlier comp this season in 2022 to the Newcastle Knights - Hannah Southwell / Olivia Higgins/ Yasmin Clydsdale (nee Meakes) / Tayla Predebon/Simone Karpani plus two others in Captain Corban Baxter ( pregnancy) and Brydie Parker (Did her ACL in the Grandfinal earlier this year).

So 7 players from the starting 17 that won the delayed 2021 comp in April this year

Isabelle Kelly played the first 2 seasons with the NRLW Roosters ( 2018/2019) - 1 season at St George Illawarra (2020) and now is back with the Roosters - delayed 2021 comp in early 2022 and now this comp in 2022.

Jess Sergis played the first 3 seasons with St George Illawarra and these 2 comps with the Sydney Roosters.

New players this current comp

Jada Taylor - Sydney Roosters Tarsha Gale Cup 2022
Otesa Pule - Sydney Roosters Tarsha Gale Cup 2022
Katosipani Hopoate - Sydney Roosters Tarsha Gale Cup 2022
Jasmine Strange - Central Coast Roosters NSW Women's premiership comp 2022
Shannon Rose - Central Coast Roosters NSW Women's premiership comp 2022
Angelina Teakaraanga Katoa - North Sydney Bears NSW Women's premiership comp 2022
Jayme Fressard - Newcastle Knights/ Central Coast Roosters NSW Women's premiership comp 2022
Shaniah Power - Gold Coast Titans 2021
Destiny Brill - Gold Coast Titans 2021
Samantha Bremner - Hadn't played NRLW since 2020
Chante Temara - Injury ruled her out of the earlier comp this season (broken hand)

The cap is only 350 k for 24 players and the players are very much part time and have jobs outside of footy.

Be interested what happens next comp when it's a 10 team comp - most likely 1 round - 9 games and a top 5 4 week finals series - 13 weeks or so - would start early/mid July 2023.

Plus what will be the cap / squad numbers and contract lengths - currenly most sign one season contracts at a time - will they allow multi season deals - only the marquee players of which clubs can have 2 can sign multi season deals

What will happen to the state based women's premiership comps - would need to start them in feb 2023 or so
