Admittedly I don't watch many NRLW games that don't involve us but I reckon that was one of the best games I've seen, it was very entertaining and Raiders put on a serious first half. They got scrappy when the game got away from them but it was still a good game.

I'm 42, been involved in all sorts of roles in the game, and been watching it virtually my whole life, and it was this game today that I realised what the ref's signal for a team taking the 2 actually means.

When a team gets a penalty and elects to go for goal, and the ref swings both arms from out wide in to point them at the goal posts, I never realised it was him pointing at his touchies and telling them to go to the in-goal for the goal attempt.

I suppose I just thought, without actually thinking about it, that it was like a radar, zeroing in towards the target. I dunno.

But yeah, I learned something new today, 2nd September 2023.

I rate Sheridan Gallagher, doing really well for a new convert to rugby league & she’s both dangerous in space and strong in yardage. The women’s game is already catching up to them men’s in terms of the importance of strong outside back carries (whereas for the first few seasons a lot of wingers basically did nothing in most games), so Shez is a player we should look to re-sign.

Jasmine Strange is probably the worst player in the first choice starting 13 though. Wouldn’t hate it if we got Emmanita Paki back after she recovers from her injury she got in the grand final.
