Preston Campbell is one I would consider about the same level as Kidley yet I don't see anyone advocating his nclusion.
CWBush said:Perhaps because he'd be a terrible option anywhere in the forward pack. Hell, his work at fullback last week didn't convince me he's much good there either.
DeeGan said:Name every NSW Origin side since 1980 (oh hell - have a look at QLD as well) with a specialist hooker on the bench.
Look forward to reading.
Brad Joyce said:Is McKinnon available for City or Country? And who is in his way as far as selection goes for whichever particular side he is available for?
CWBush said:No, I want him in the side because of his utility value. Having a hooker on the bench is a waste. If Danny doesn't get injured, Farah gets a five or ten minute spell. Since we don't have a Bowen to throw on the bench, Kidley is a good option. He has a great running game and can cover most any position. Farah is a great player, but the NSW side does not need two hookers when Buderus is capable of playing the majority of the game when fit.
A year ago 'super coach' Michael Hagan insisted on using him as our chief playmaker in Joey's absence.
And Gidley is convincing you how..as he aint playing in the forwards you know.
He is not in Hornby's class when it comes to utility value because Gidley is a rubbish half.
I am also far from convinced that Kurt Gidley could play anywhere in the pack whereas Hornby has successfully played at dummy half last year, in Newcastle for example and carved up.
It was only last year when plenty of Knights supporters as you know CWB were even questioning Kurt Gidley's place in the team let alone at fullback.
Hornby/Farah/Gower/Wing are all ahead of Kidley for utility, assuming none get a starting position. In both the mind of the Blues selectors, and talent.
3rd or 4th like last year when he was FIRST in the pecking order last year? While in an out of form team, and not the best form himself? He was then injured and straight into the team for Origin 3 when he was fit.CWBush said:Haven't watched the Roosters play this year, huh? Wing looks terrible. Gower's never going to see a rep jersey again given his habitual ability to do stupid sh*t off the field. Farah can play hooker and that's it - so he'll not play unless Buderus is injured.
You say we're biased as they come - yet you name Gower when he'd be about third or fourth in the halves pecking order
CWBush said:Gower has never performed at rep level. He's like Barrett in that respect.
WTF? Both those guys have performed at rep level. Orford is the biggest choker under pressure of any halfback in contention.CWBush said:Gower has never performed at rep level. He's like Barrett in that respect. If Joey isn't fit, I expect Orford to get the halfback nod.
Is that sh*t legit? Barrett played his best football in Origin, consistently.
