It will be interesting to see what the NSW Dr's have to say re his injury as compared to our own people but in the meantime DR. Mc Fokknuckle has cleared him to play so no problems.
It’s a cork guys - last week vs raiders he ran his season high metres 139, broke 5 tackles, 2 line breaks, 2 offloads, and made 32 tackles with just 1 miss.
Is that the performance of a man who should have been rested?

He should have had the game v Souths off, no argument. But Jesus wept you guys overblow your argument with this sort of stuff sometimes.

It’s a cork, please someone find me an example of an nrl player getting rested for 3 straight weeks with a cork - should be easy given this is such an obviously outrageous decision.

Ummm if your talking about JDB this week he ended up on the sideline almost in tears and unable to walk, holding his entire hip.

Crichton is a strange selection on the bench. He doesnt offer a whole lot of impact, he'd be useless in the middle, the prop rotation is 1 player short, both back rowers are good for 80 mins (with Peachey able to fill in edge backrower if necessary. Strange choice, would have Ryan James in there instead. Or Merrin, who's been great since switching back to prop.

Otherwise, as good a team as well get.

Lol@Aitken the certainty.
Yeah I’d have gone Merrin over Crichton, but otherwise that’s a damn good team.
Might be they plan to have Frizz do a stint at prop with Angus on the edge?

I don't mind the approach with the team (if that's the team), although I do think the backline is young and might not be as effective as we think they will be. I think Cotric is more suited to the game than Addo-Carr if NSW are going for someone younger. I think Crichton and Frizell would be better off being swapped for team balance but Frizell is established and they can sort that out later so fair enough.

Please try and get things correct as it was reported that Hunt has the cork and JDB has a hip flexor injury.
Now look up hip flexor injury on google and see what it has to say about it and then get back to us.
Make sure you read all of the article and don't skim over them.

From May 14th.

NRL site.

MYSTERY surrounds Jack de Belin’s fitness just two weeks out from the NSW State of Origin team announcement.

The Blues hopeful was pulled after just nine minutes in the second half of Sunday’s 24-10 NRL loss to South Sydney though St George Illawarra coach Paul McGregor refused to reveal any details including the nature or severity of the problem.

The back-rower did not train during the week because of a hip pointer injury and McGregor suggested it was a mistake to let him play.Whether he will miss any game time remains unknown after McGregor was evasive when asked about his star forward.

“Jack was one of them guys that didn’t train all week and played pretty much no minutes,” McGregor said.

“We used two interchanges on it. It’s a bit of a lesson there.”

Asked about the exact nature of the injury, McGregor bizarrely refused to elaborate.

“I can’t tell you that ... It’s on his body,” he said.

De Belin got through 28 minutes against the Bunnies on Sunday but didn’t have his usual impact.

It was a worrying sign after his second spell was cut short and it clearly wasn’t McGregor’s plan to use him that way.

All of these say hip pointer OT, maybe my reading is fine? I’ve even included a description of it for you in case you want to skim
“A hip pointer is a contusion on the pelvis caused by a direct blow or a bad fall at an iliac crest and / or hip bone”

I see you show the quote as to the nature of the injury and did you see some actually say that a hip pointer strains the hip flexor muscle group or didn't that mean anything to you?
I see you failed to show the recommended treatment or potential risks associated with early return form what you seem to think is a minor injury not worth a week off.

Shifting your goal posts there OT, I said it was a cork, you said I was wrong but everything I’ve quoted and you’ve quoted says that was correct.
It’s a hip pointer, which is a cork that can affect the hip flexor, and about 6 other muscle groups too. I never said it’s minor either.
I agree he should have had a week off vs Souths, said it several times. That doesn’t mean it was a mistake to play him vs raiders where he had an excellent game. Given his performance last week it seems justified that he was played this week.

Dunno why thats so funny. Dugan was one of the best on a regular basis in previous years.

One, he’s always hurt, more so this year.

Two, I thought we were trying to get away from the “success” we have over the past 13 years and try something new and different, like selecting players in form.

Well all I said it will be interesting to see what the SOO Dr has to say about it and whether they pass him fit or not
Past experience with our lot indicates clearly to me they don’t like the option of resting players and they will run the risk of further injury rather than rest them and trust we have suitable players to contribute to winning whilst others are afforded the opportunity of being kept in prime condition.
The article clearly states without full recovery further injuries associated to the hip or in fact smother injuries can occur and I suggest needling players to get on the paddock doesn’t indicate they are fully recovered
Why take the risk???????
