NSW player ratings game 1

Dugan - 7/10 (Had some nervous moments early on when he got in the way of the attack, but otherwise he did alright. Took some tough bombs)
Uate - 7/10 (NSW generally sent the ball left, but he did handle everything Queensland threw at him and made some strong kick returns)
Gasnier - 3/10 (Had the biggest weapon in the NRL outside him, yet didn't pass to him once, made a few good defensive plays, but that's about it)
Jennings - 9/10 (Best NSW game of his career by a long long way. Proved the doubters wrong)
Morris - 3/10 (sadly, he just can't convert his club form in the rep arena, time to go)
Soward - 5/10 (a few good kicks, but otherwise fairly ordinary, I'd give him another shot though)
Pearce - 8/10 (very strong in defence and okay in attack. He's almost there in the origin arena, would be a huge waste to dump him now)
King - 2/10 (absolute garbage)
Young - 5/10 (kept it tight at the start of the game, did what they needed him to do, he was never going to do anything flash)
Snowden - 6/10 (got stuck in, nothing special, nothing bad)
Scott - 6/10 (a bad defensive decision let Slater slip through, but otherwise was strong)
Bird - 8/10 (another great origin performance by the Birdman, should have a mortgage on a Blues jersey from here on out)
Gallen - 7/10 (worked his backside off)

Ennis 7/10 (made a bad mistake early but put pressure on the kickers and helped set up our first try)
Creagh 5/10 (didn't get much of a chance)
Mannah 6/10 (needed more game time, what he did was good however)
Merrin 5/10 (maybe a bit too early for him)

he did but so did soward, he made the extra effort to get back and he read alot of plays on the goal line saving tries, if it wasn't for dugan leaving the ball for him they could have avoided one of the drop outs.

I'm not saying it was miles ahead, but slightly better than pearce, pearce was solid in defence and put his body on the line alot

oh they have them up already!! lmao look at this qld fans..

Jason King: Made some tackles but lumbered in attack. Questionable if he is the answer in front row. 5.5

Willie Tonga: Battled on after picking up a first half injury and next to no impact in attack. 5.5

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so a guy who dominated gasnier and battled through with injury gets the same rating as someone who was absoloutely dominated in every facet of the game and put out one of the worst displays in SoO history...................

1. Dugan (7) Was solid played about as well as i expected him too.

2. Uate (8) Did a better job up the middle than all of our props

3. Gasnier (5) to be honest i thought he was poor he didn't offer a great deal and wasn't really involved.

4. Jennings (9) Dangerous every time he touched the ball should have Hayne outside him.

5. Morris (3) His mistake cost NSW the game before then i actually thought it was his best performance in Origin which isn't saying much.

6. Soward (6) I thought he was okay though for the first 15 minutes i am not even sure if he touched the ball. His Clearing kicks did help NSW a bit which is what has been lacking in recent years.

7. Pearce (7) Thought it was his best performance in Origin he played well.

8. King (1) Worst selection in Origin History not even in the top 15 front rowers in NSW utter disgrace he was picked he made only 4 hit ups disgraceful.

9. Ennis (6) Thought he played okay better than recent Origin performances but still nowhere near as good as Farah really.

10 Snowden (4) I thought Snowden and Manneh were our best front rowers and the only 2 who should be retained.

11. Scott (7) thought he was solid for the most part but he doesn't offer enough in attack if he could develop and offload or something he could become a good player.

12. Bird (8) showed great footwork for the first try he made 10 hit ups for 100 metres so that is pretty good going.

13. Gallen (8) Gallen is always an 8 out of 10 player works so hard he puts our front rowers to shame.

14. Creagh (1) 4 hit ups again, Guy is far too soft for Origin never should be selected again.

15. Merrin (2) He was on debut so i gave him an extra point, He only made something like 35 metres. He is nothing special and should be dropped.

16. Mannah (5) He made the most metres of any NSW front rower he seemed to spend less time on the field too, he looked like the only NSW player who could get over the advantage line,

17. Young (3) He deserved a go he has been a good clubman for years but i thought he was found wanting at this level of football.

Team for Origin 2

1. Dugan
2. Uate
3. Gasnier ( If NSW lose or he performs badly bring in Idris for game 3)
4. Jennings
5. Hayne
6. Soward
7. Pearce
8. Tolman
9. Farah
10. Snowden
11. Scott
12. Bird
13. Gallen

14. Lewis
15. Learoyd-Lahrs
16. Mannah
17. Watmough

People say don't make many changes but i would make 6. Lewis,Hayne and Farah in my opinion are no brainers if you were to name the 10 best players in NSW all 3 would get a mention. We need new front rowers badly.

Props banned from Origin forever

Weyman
Kite
King
Poore
White

We need to pick 4 front rowers outside of all these failures. Merrin isn't ready at all for Origin he isn't better then Galloway,Grant,Douglas,Hunt,Tolman ,Tilse etc

Learoyd Lahrs was the last NSW front rower to make 100 metres in a game forever. He has to be chosen he has a bit of Sironen about him really.

Jennings 8/10 Made some nice breaks
Morris 3/10 Crucial mistake, quiet
Soward 6/10 Tried hard, should have been kicking more often

Dugan 4/10 - 4 errors (including one shocking knock on). Bad defensive positioning, and TERRIBLE communication with Morris to let in "that try"
Uate 8/10 - looked dangerous with limited touches
Gasnier 5/10 - not by the hair of my chinny chin chin
Jennings 8/10 - looked lethal. Perfect example of the type of player we need more of in Origin
Morrs 1/10 - has looked out of his depth since debuting in Origin
Soward 5/10 - defended pretty well when he had to (13 tackles), but kicking game (his strength?) was shocking
Pearce 6/10 - tried hard, needs a genuine playmaker in the team to take the heat off him
King 1/10 - oh dear - 1 point for managing to run out on the field without falling down?
Young 3/10 - tackled his guts out while on there. Not an origin player.
Snowden 4/10 dominated by Civvy and Scott. Welcome to the big times
Scott 7/10 - I thought he'd suck. Was pleasantly surprised!
Bird 6/10 - looked dangerous early on, but vanished.
Gallen 7/10 - yet again, worked his sizeable rear end off. Needs some teammates with "flair" to take advantage of his hard work

Ennis 3/10 - thought it was going to be even worse than it was for him after his first "pass". Finished the game as poorly as he started it by setting up Qld's last try with a pathetic tackle attempt.
Creagh 3/10 - maybe that's too harsh since he did run the ball 4 times in 40 minutes? A big improvement on his last origin game....
Merrin 5/10 - a quiet start to an Origin career?
Mannah 6/10 - actually made some meters and got himself involved to run the footy.

Pretty dismal rankings, but I think the sad thing is that particular Blues team can't play much better. They need some players with "flair" to do create something.
Out: King, King, King, Dugan, Ennis, Creagh.
In: any prop; Hayne, Farah, Idris.

Wow - suddenly we have some 'fancypants' attackers to create space/tries for Jennings Uate?!?! Don't tell Ricky...

Gasnier wasn't great from the highlights I have seen but wouldn't it stand to reason that his halves would have seen what Boyd was up to and adjust with a kick behind or a delayed pass just once to try and put the brakes on that tactic by Boyd?

Surely Dean Young has to go, if they want an impact hooker off the bench then start with Ennis and have Farah on the bench... guess Gidley will be line for that gig..

To me Young and King looked well off the pace... Morris made a horrible misake that perhaps cost the game, or at least that and a combination of Scott rushing Lockyer and Gallen being exhausted...

Front row was smashed... back row was awesome... Mannah to start? Close look at props that add some punch - TLL, Galloway, Grant, Douglas - shit, anyone is better than King
