I think there are several players that won't be there..
From what i have seen, Karl has been fairly quiet the last few weeks, but Savage has been playing very, very well.
I heard Filiga's being brought into the Origin squad in case Gasnier decides he couldn't be bothered.
yep, Savage has been a bit of revelation..infact him and Fluke have been terrific.
x2
I dont feel Filiga has been playing badly, has to get involved more. Still very dangerous with his hands on the ball. I'm very eager to get down there on Sunday.
not sure but the fact that Filiga can't get a spot ahead of part time footballer like Savage is a concern...and another of our great 2nd tier members, Paki Afu is coming of the bench for Bundy cup..
http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...circuit-in-appin/story-e6freye0-1226075254104STILL on the Eels, Justin Horo, Carl Webb and Reni Maitua picked up the 3-2-1 votes for Wenty on Saturday as they beat NSW Cup leaders Cronulla. Horo has racked up 11 points and sits just three points behind in the player rankings, despite having only pulled on a Wenty jumper five times.
Because it worked so well the first time around?Gees, Filiga looks so intimidating - what is SK & co's plans with him?
Is he now playing injury free?
If he stays injury free for a few more games, do a Loko and throw him in the top 17, let him swim or sink.
Because it worked so well the first time around?
Face it while he has the skills ATM from the little I've seen of him so far this year and other reports, injured or not, he isn't displaying those skills and certainly not to the extent to put him ahead of Loko, Morgan, Walker or Reddy when he's available. Heck ATM even if the above four were injured you'd be tempted to shuffle some players and put Etu, Humble, Gagan or Brien the position first or you'd shove Horo/Smith to centres if need be. And as said by others Savage is in better form. Even Maitua is probably in front of him.
And if you're considering him for a bench position he probably is even lower down the pecking order.
He needs to cement his position at Wenty, work hard whenever he gets the chance to train with the big boys, perhaps he could learn a thing or two from Reni, just on size and skill alone he'll get another chance
But seriously I hope he fails.
Thanks Stagger,
I still think Mortimer has a big future ahead with our club.
He has lost some pace with the extra weight he's put on
so he's got a lot of work to do in that area.
And he still needs to put on at least another 3 to 5 kilos.
Maybe, it's all about being relaxed and he'll clean out those blocked fuel injectors.
Not burdened with the 6 or 7 expectations placed on him since late 2009, carrying the whole team and eels fan base on his shoulders, in the long-rum may do him a lot of good.
He looks so intense, focused, passionate and determined, and these attributes are a good thing.
He'll come good, I predict 2013 onwards he'll be awesome, could even happen during 2012 & even as early as late this season.
It couldn`t do any harm.
