Well true to form Waleed Aly stated until our cricketers won the ashes, Australian national sporting teams have had a tough time such as the Wallabies, Socceroos but surprise surprise no mention of the Kangaroos feats in the RLWC2013!

He should have mentioned the loss in that hybrid game the AFL players have with the Irish.

Anyway, Offsiders is sports for the intelligensia of all Australia. Whately, above AFL, loves horse-racing (due to his nose resembling Black Cavier in size and shape) and cycling (as his nostrils resemble a racing bicycle's wheels at full speed.)

Really, it would be better if there was an Offsiders for AFL states (and territories) and a seperate one for League states, both shows encompassing general sports, with each showing to the other afterwards (similar to the AFL and NRL Footy Shows.)

In other words, a complete new panel and show for the NSW and QLD audience, and exactly the same for the rest of Australia.

with the show now starting at 10am this year (been previously 10.30 for some years now), surely they can go for an hour and focus on all sports. Their focus on the afl is beyond a joke now!

That was overseas and in the morning though.

Doesn't count.

Just had some gibberer on the Offsiders today saying that there was "no comparison" between the AFL and NRL TV deals...

Fair dinkum, where does the ABC find these ignorant Victorians?

his attitude was very dismissive of the NRL. I'm looking forward to all these muppets eating their words.

It's not the 10 mins of AFL, 5 mins of A-league, 5 mins of MLB (in Sydney ?!) that offends me. It's just that they pretend this is a general sports show. They should just have a disclaimer saying the rugby codes are of no interest to them so won't be covered in the show. Right now it's just dishonest.

geez wilson was bad today. linked everything back to afl.

first it was an issue that no other football was being played in western sydney except the wanderers because gws had a 3 week break. let's just forget the easter nrl crowd breaking games.

then she tried to compare kevin sheedy to sir alex ferguson.

when gerrard said the inglis try was the highlight of the week arguably, instead of some afl thing, she sat there with a scowl.

needs more league people.

john stanley too, but he's an apologist for the code and gets bullied into bagging it. either way, it can't keep being 4 victorians each week or this is what we'll end up with.

it's the way this show has always been as it's run from Victoriania by AFL fans

they're not going to change now

Wilson was just bad today. They spent the first 5 or so minutes of the show talking up the soccer (the A-league finals and Man Utd) cause it was news-worthy, and Wilson kept referring back to the afl, where there was just no need to do so.

Showing the highlight of Anzac day with the Inglis try sure did shut her up! Thank goodness.

Anyone know why Caroline Wilson still appears on this show? Haven't seen anyone as bias as her in a while.

 That was absolutely pisser to watch. The hag literally could not come up with any sort of comparison between VFL and Inglis's brilliant skill and athleticism.. She was truly struck dumb...

No mention of Samoa-Fiji today.

To be sure.

Hinds talked down City-Country too.

possibly the best combination of panelists for the AFL today, and worst for the NRL. their coverage of the A-League was decent and gave some rare time to union as well, who were without a panelist. but the way they talked down the aus v nz match was just as paul kent would want it.

that merkin began the negative narrative on the rep round this weekend and every other outlet has just followed suit. there needs to be a concerted effort to push a positive narrative like gould's article today. imagine if we started the week with it instead of ending it? entirely different story i reckon.

I actually think Underwood quoted Kent word-for-word a few times today.

News mantra production unlimited.

I will give big nose Wheatley the slightest credit today.

He did say that the Aus v NZ test rated well.

The other woman apart from Caro had no idea. At least Caro usually doesn't pretend to know anything about NRL

That snooty nose Underwood woman, queried the usefulness of the City v Country, then tried to put down the test by stating the Storm Anzac day game drew more.
She is also on the Back Page,so just follows the News ltd line.
How can a panel who follows one code of football AFL(and Hinds is a pretend NRL follower with an AFL background) be taken seriously, when commenting on the NRL or rugby league.
