Sweet, notch another one up to the conspiracy theorists and those confusing regulatory bodies with governance.

What TLD (Top Level Domain) does the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) website have: asada.gov.au

Hint: .gov is short for government.

According to the Australian government, gov.au is:

for Australian, state, territory and local government bodies.

And how does ASADA describe themselves on there website:

The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) is a government statutory authority

So who is getting confused about governance & regulation?

And its not conspiracy mate, you're the one with your head in the clouds if you think only people of high ethical character are in positions of authority, and they are motivated by some virtuous moral code.

Anyone can see the investigation is a mess; indicative of our government as a whole.

Yeah, the loopies are out again. It is a pointless argument, even if players and officials are suspended - these rednecks will blame everyone bar the players and the suppliers.

Please stop posting straw man arguments ur wasting a good thread.

ASADA is funded by the government:

"The Australian Government provides funding of ASADA's ongoing capital requirements through the provision of approved Departmental Capital Budgets..."

Who has the power in a relationship where one person pays for the livelihood of another? If your boss told you to jump, would you not say how high? Or are u unemployed as well as uneducated?

About ASADA
Pure
Performance

Sport is a powerful cultural force in Australia.

It is ASADA?s role to preserve and protect sport?s value ? not only for athletes, support persons and sporting organisations ? but for all Australians.

Pure Performance is a concept that encapsulates the health and fitness aspect of sport, the talent and dedication of athletes and ethical competition.

ASADA aims to ensure that the pure spirit of sport remains in play.

The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) is a government statutory authority that is Australia's driving force for pure performance in sport.

ASADA's mission is to protect Australia's sporting integrity through the elimination of doping.
To achieve its mission ASADA focuses on three key themes - to deter, detect, and enforce:

ASADA deters prohibited doping practices in sport via education, doping control (testing), advocacy and the coordination of Australia's anti-doping program;
ASADA detects a breach of a sport's anti-doping policy via its doping control (testing) and investigation programs; and
ASADA enforces any breach of a policy by ensuring those violating anti-doping rules are prosecuted and sanctioned.

ASADA reports to the Minister for Sport. From its head office in Canberra, ASADA operates under strict corporate governance guidelines and works closely with the Office of Sport within the Department of Regional Australia, Local Government, Arts and Sport.

Hilarous, under your argument the High Court would be jumping "how high" for the government -remember, a recent court decision on refugees.
Dude, your conspiracies beliefs don't wash.

Funding a regulatory body, such as ASADA - doesn't make it an arm of government. If you are educated, I fail the educators.

what do you think Labor will uncover?

how many if any players?

speak Julia

Well Dingles, I will say that between 14 and 20 league players will receive bans and 20 plus AFL players from the ASADA investigation.

You are saying a few - around 3 (by definition).

I'm saying at least 14.

Let's see who was right at the end of the day.

Not so fast there! Perhaps you need to brush up on your separation of powers since you want to talk about the Judicial branch with your High Court example.

"In Australia there is little separation between executive and legislative". (The third being Judicial - is the example you gave, where there is clearer separation).

So no not that hilarious at all. Unless your laughing at yourself?

Although you assumed you could, I am glad your not responsible for handing out the grades for educators. Although nice try....
