When i was 20 i was a f**king moron...im a moron at 33 but I was an even bigger moron at 20. I was a completely different person. So yeah while we as a society consider 20 year olds adults they are certainly not fully matured.

Again they f**ked up and need to be punished. I couldnt give a f**k what a person does with their body but if we allow ped use in sports then everyone will have to use them to compete. Look at the tour de france...almost all the top riders of armstrongs day have been caught for doping. So wada needs to hold individual athletes ultimately responsible for what goes into their bodies

But what the club did is sick. Human testing on guys not long out of high school ? How much informed consent could these duffers really give. How much understanding does a 20 year old pro athlete really have on biochemistry. An authority figure says its all sweet mate and you go with it.

Obviously there were a lot of red flags. The club telling the players to lie was a massive one but i do have a certain amount of sympathy for the players who were under dank. He sounds like an absolute pyscho

Edit

I agree with danish that dank and pals should be looking at criminal prosecution. Its a sick joke that worksafe can only hit essendon with like half a million in fines.

I don't feel for the players really. Jobe's attitude especially is annoying, you are a leader at the club mate and for mine you either didn't have the balls to stand up and say "stop, this is wrong" or you were complicit with the cheating. There is no "we didn't know" bullshit because you all know your responsibilities, 100 injections over 6 months outside of the club without the club doctor involved would by suspicious to anyone let alone players who get lots of education on this subject. The whole "don't wanna speak out against the group mentality" has me a bit sympathetic towards the younger guys in the group but not much, the older guys and the leaders amongst the playing group should feel ashamed.

Only defence is if the club said in the injection is x,y&Z which is legal. Player checks what he has been told and is legal. Turns out to be something different that was illegal. In that case the player would have a very good case against the club. A lot of this stuff is pre mixed and handed to players, seen it at a jnr level so god knows what goes on at pro level. Not surprising players have little idea what's in these cocktails they are given.

re the jibes about my club, been a life long supporter of a club formed in 1882 with a very illustrious trophy winning heritage. The same club I spent over $10k going to watch at Wembley last year, bad result but amazing experience. History and trophy winning, something I wouldn't expect a sharks fan to understand.

Lol as if you f**king know. it wouldn't be hard to go through 10k in London in a week including your flights for two people.
Actually I do f**king know.

My wife and I went to the Uk for 2 weeks in 2013 and for 3 weeks last year.

We spent way under 10 grand on both occasions.

Stayed in London for a week both times too. Had a hire car for all bar 3 days on both occasions and we travelled from Bath to Newcastle and Whitby to Liverpool.

I agree it wouldn't be hard to spend a shitload of money, but that doesn't mean it costs that much to do it.
