Spine of Hayne, Carney, Pearce (for lack of a better option, perhaps Reynolds one day if he kills it this year) and Farah. Build the team around that.

I think that we have it over QLD when it comes to forwards. Our pack is definitely as strong if not stronger (especially in the second row) and I feel that the gap between Farah and Smith is closer than a lot of people would like to admit. To the point where Farah easily outplayed Smith in the last series.

Obviously QLD has the superior backs. Any team that features Slater and Inglis will. However Hayne, the Morris brothers and Gordon are 4 players that leave me quietly confident of upsetting QLD during this years series.

Im still not sold on Gordon, he has a lot to prove imo. Top of that list is showing me that he can play consistantly injury free

no, its in the forwards we rule and have for the whole 7 years. we choose players like ashley harrison who dont excel at nrl level but are 10 foot tall when playing an origin. they would almost lay down their lives. its that serious.

Because we've picked hacks before Stuart had his two year stint. In the 11/12 series our forwards had stats of that very close to, if not better then QLD in some games.

QLD has consistently picked good forwards whom do the hard yards, grind their guts out and are shown loyalty and confidence by Meninga. We just used to aim for the flavour of the month.

QLD's strength in my opinion is it's back line. Slater, Boyd, Tate, YowYeh, Folau, Inglis, Hodges, Bowen is just some of the talent they've had there in the past 7 years and its an area we'll struggle to match.

Daley will pick him. I have a hunch he will. He's a great player and can be the XFactor we need on the wing, he has plenty of time to prove himself prior to Origin.

I'd say both sides forwards are damn near equal, QLD's halves and to a lesser extent CTW are head and shoulders above NSW though.

I think Hayne has to play fullback from now on, he's wasted on the wing.

Hayne, morris, morris, jennings, gordon, carney, pearce, tamou, farah, gallen, lewis, sims, bird. Mateo, williams, grant, mason. Have put pearce at 7 cause it looks like daley is going to pick him anyway. I would pick whoever is the form 7 at the time. I would like mateo given a go in the back end of each half. I know he is hot n cold, but if hot could really trouble the maroons. Hayne seems to step up for nsw and i think having him at fullback he could impact more with his running and passing game from the back. Also i think mason is now alot more mature player/leader who could come on after 20 and really fire up the troops.

You know who I reckon would look great in the sky blue?

Josh Jackson.

Maybe not this year, but this guy just rips in and knows how to bend the line backwards. He's impressed me ever since he's made the grade.

Yeh i dont think he will get picked this year, we have an abundance of backrowers fighting over 4-5 spots.

He is an outstanding player and puts in every week and will play origin in a year or two.

said it last year, ill say it again... so long as Greg Inglis, Cam Smith, Billy Slater, Cooper Cronk and Jonathon Thurston, we are going to have to get very luck to win a series. If fact until at least one or two of them retire, we probably wont win a series. QLD could easily win the next 2-3 with these guys still playing at an extremely high level

This year is our best chance having two games in sydney. As much as I would have Campese there, I wouldn't chuck him in, too long out of the game.
Although I was against the idea of A. Reynolds earlier this year about being halfback, if Pearce doesn't kick start the year off with some good form, I'd heavily consider him.
