1. Jarryd Hayne
2. Blake Ferguson
3. Michael Jennings
4. Josh Morris
5. Michael Gordon
6. James Maloney
7. Todd Carney
8. Tim Grant
9. Robbie Farah
10. James Tamou
11. Greg Bird
12. Anthony Watmough
13. Paul Gallen

14. Luke Lewis
15. Trent Merrin
16. Adam Woods
17. Andrew Fifita

We shouldn't waste a bench spot on a utility. We should just let Luke Lewis cover any injuries if needed, and if not he spends his time in the second row and we aren't wasting an interchange on a nuffie like Gidley.
Revised backline for injuries and form not warranting selection:

1. Josh Dugan
2. Jarryd Hayne
3. Michael Jennings
4. Blake Ferguson
5. Jorge Taufua
6. James Maloney
7. Todd Carney
8. Tim Grant
9. Robbie Farah
10. James Tamou
11. Greg Bird
12. Anthony Watmough
13. Paul Gallen

14. Luke Lewis
15. Trent Merrin
16. Adam Woods
17. Andrew Fifita

I wasn't keen on bringing Josh Dugan in with only one game behind him, and Hayne being more deserving of the fullback spot. But we have some serious issues on the wing with Gordon, Uate, Morris etc. under injury clouds and I wouldn't want to risk having 2 rookie wingers. So if Dugan can play well for a few weeks before Origin, he is probably the safest option with Hayne playing on the left wing outside of Jenko where he has proven himself a weapon many times before.

Fergo plays right centre at club level, and is in far better form then Josh Morris. Might aswell play him in the right centre position ahead of a bloke who is playing crappy football at left centre. Brett Morris would walk into the team if fit though... based purely on his last Origin game and forgetting all his games before that. In which case I would leave Hayne at fullback and have Morris/Taufua on the wings.

Dugan looked underdone even at club level...Origin is only a couple of weeks away and I doubt he would last 80 at fullback there. If he was to play it would be on the wing which would give the option of swapping with Hayne from time to time if necessary. If he played on the right he may have the opportunity of playing next to Ferguson (if that's the way the coach goes) which could be an advantage

QLD choose players who are out of form and they always play well.Josh should retain his spot as he was one of NSW best last series. NSW have to learn not to change players all the time just because they are out of form.

If only Daley didn't have such a hard on for Pearce....

We could have had

6. Mullen/Maloney
7. Carney

if we win a couple more series we should let you play 2 guys both in 6 jumpers, 14 playing on 13 on the field. bit like when the mcc [england] used to tour australia 130 years ago and play 11 against 18 or 22 of the nsw or vic teams just to even up the games.

Sorry dude, I can't see Merritt being strong in Origin. Seeing him get monstered by young Koribete on Friday night made me worry, you have to think the better wingers in the game would have stopped that try...

Also, Dugan is a bit underdone - had to switch to the wing for a breather on Saturday night, might be right for game 2 or 3. Sutton wont be the utility (although wouldnt be a terrible option) but you cant have 3 props on the bench, better off starting Gallen at 13, Grant or Woods at 8 and Lewis or Watmough on the bench.

Jennings is the best centre available for NSW. Anyone suggesting he should be dropped is out of their minds. He is as dangerous as they come

McManus would be a better option on the wing. Hell, David Simmons is a better option than Merritt

Go prop heavy and just bash holes through the centre of QLD's attack, wear out Smith and Cronk in defence.

It's the only way to have any chance of shutting them down.

Even at the Panthers Jennings defence wasn't that bad. I remember when Hodges came out and sledged him publicly, people then posted defensive stats from that season and Jennings well and truly had him covered there. Like anyone he makes mistakes... but he is better in both attack and defence then Justin Hodges has been in recent years at Origin time.

His club team this season has kept multiple teams to nil, and when they do look vulnerable in defence it's SKD that's the weakness. Not Jennings.
