Fensom doesn't offer much in the way of linebreaks or an offload but he offers a lot as a metre eater. I rate he and Graham both very highly and I expect them both to be in the sky blue sooner rather than later. We can't forget about Tariq Sims though, he'll certainly come into calculations as the bolter.

What I'm thinking at the moment:

8. James Tamou
9. Robbie Farah
10. Paul Gallen (c) (Playing 60 minutes, NOT 80)
11. Greg Bird
12. Glenn Stewart
13. Luke Lewis

14. Anthony Watmough
15. Tim Grant
16. Aaron Woods
17. Tariq Sims/Wade Graham/Shaun Fensom/Tony Williams/Beau Scott

Looking at Fensom's last 8 games of the season he made
70m, 57 tackles
102m, 45 tackles
109m, 37 tackles
138m, 28 tackles
161m, 51 tackles
95m, 39 tackles
172m, 52 tackles
79m, 62 tackles
source nrl.com

and he pretty much replicates these numbers week in week out, to say his attack is average is pretty harsh. He is a younger version of Paul Gallen.

IMO Graham could be there, alongside Fensom and T. Sims. We pretty much have the best young type of backrowers (ballplayer, workhorse and hole runner/impact) respectively, in the game.

The only problem I see with my forward pack is the inexperience off the bench, however they are all such quality players.

Regardless I think we can all agree Graham and Fensom should and will be there in the future, whether its 2013, or 2014/15 as guys like Lewis, Bird, Watmough and Gallen begin to age

Gees touche mate. I didn't realise his stats were THAT good.

I think Graham is a much better fringe player than lock, still needs to work on his defence a little but I wouldn't be against picking him in the side he's a very well rounded player; great work rate, runs good lines & can ball play.

Surely we wont persist with G Stewart...

Tolman's the one who I'm surprised doesn't get mentioned much, imo he's comfortably one of the best props in the game.

Between Tolman, Gallen & Fensom I think you're more than covered for go forward and strong defence. The other two props need to provide impact (Tamou is one) and we should just concentrate on picking good fringe runners, I question whether there's a spot for Watmough anymore after being a big supporter of his incumbency.

Although Tolman's stats are usually pretty good. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I think his metres per hit up are lower then most 'quality' props. Makes a good amount of tackles aswell, but for me doesn't have enough punch in attack, could just be me though.

He's no Tamou or Gallen that's for sure. His game is very similiar to Grant and Woods. The side needs another impact prop, Andrew Fifita and big George Rose are good examples.

He doesn't make great metres per run but he still makes a shit load of metres at the end of the day and that's without making errors (only 7 in 27 games this year). He averages 32 tackles a game @ 97% efficiency, you'll struggle to find another NSW prop who gets anywhere near that.

For what it's worth, metres per run;

Aaron Woods: 8.7m per run
Aiden Tolman: 7.7m per run
Paul Gallen: 8.3m per run
James Tamou: 9.4m per run
Tim Grant: 8.2m per run

There's not doubt he's low down on the list but as I mentioned his defence more than makes up for it.

That's true, one of his best qualities is his defense.

I'd personally prefer props with the greatest go forward (presuming they can defend as well)

You have got to be trolling.

There will be at least one Manly player picked.

It's really a shame with Lawrence. His timing has been terrible.
Marked in as guaranteed left centre for 2011 series then gets the hip injury. Comes back abit shakey like most would expect with that type of injury he had. Also being moved from left centre to right centre to backrow, bit of lock probably and 5/8th by sheenius really ruining his return.

Him and J.Morris imo are the best alround centres NSW have. Strong, fast, natural ability, can set up their winger and good defence.

Lawrence still has time on his side however. I could see him still debuting this year if Jennings is injured and he is playing in some sort of form. I think he is better than Jennings anyway. He has just been a little out of form, moved around in the team way too much and an inconsistent team.

Abit like J.Morris last year, no one would have picked him this year come end of last year (playing in NSW cup). Lawrence is definitely good enough for origin, just had one of those years.

I'd still pick Jennings on incumbency, but say if Jennings was injured and Lawrence came in and played well in 1-3 games, I wouldn't look back at Jennings.

Jennings is a proven performer at Origin level. He should be the first centre picked.

J Morris had a great series this year and also deserves the incumbency

Lawrence should only get a look in if he's dominating every centre in the comp for the first 10 rounds and then hoping the players above are in the worst form of their careers

Ive said it before and ill say it again, if Shaun Fensom is fit and not in the team, we're as f**ked as we have been for the last 7 years, because it will be an indication that our coach and selection panel still dont understand origin football

Fenson looks like a great prospect and he will play Origin football but at the moment there is Gallen, Bird, Lewis and Watmough who have been NSW best over the last few years. He should be chosen over the likes of Hoffman or Criegh though. I would play:

1 Hayne
2 Morris
3 Morris
4 Jennings
5 Uate
6 Carney
7 Not pearce; maybe J. Reynolds
8 Tamou
9 Farah
10 Mannah (he will be back bigger and better in 2013)
11 Lewis
12 Bird
13 Gallen

14 Williams
15 Watmough
16 Grant
17 T.Sims/Woods/Stewart

There's no value in picking more than one backrower on the bench, majority of backrowers are capable of playing 80 minutes these days. Essentially you're just limiting the minutes of the higher quality players to give a 5th choice backrower some game time. Much better off giving that spot to a utility or impact dummy half.

Rookie halves, brilliant idea!

Carney is the best half we have, even despite him doing nothing this year in origin he's 10x better than any other option we've got. There's no way he gets dropped.

more a case of you not understanding the gap between club and origin footy

Have the same side as this year's blues side but have J.Reynolds at #6 and A.Reynolds at #7
Ah finally we find a true selection genius, picking halves with one half decent season behind them has been such a great tactic in the past, it's sure to work with the flavour of the season 2012 Reynolds x 2
