8 in a row.
It won't affect QLD's momentum.
Not sure what they would do with say a lote tuqiri or aquila uate who moved to qld from Fiji at 15. You would think they would probably still be eligible for qld, given Fiji hardly play.
The way I read it was that the son of an Origin player would be eligible for the state their father played for regardless of where they were born/lived. I might be reading too much into it though.
Common sense video ref changes. Couldn't go on with another year of that shit.
Shoulder charge rules are woeful.
And what the hell is the 'son of an Origin player' rule? Does that mean you can live in QLD all your life and play for NSW because your father did?
I read it that neither would be eligible under the new criteria, as they didn't live in either state prior to the age of 13.
Also I reckon Billy Moore needs to be added to your list, as far as Im aware he never lived in QLD (maybe still hasn't), he just played in the QRL comp because he lived in a bordertown (Tenterfield)
I heard he was actually from Qld but was born in Tenterfield as it was the closest hospital. Could be wrong though
Could very well be right, but I also believe he played his League in Tenterfield also.
If what you are saying is correct, it would probably make him even "more" eligible for QLD, which under the old rules was a bit dodgy.
Anyone know if this makes Will Chambers ineligible, I know he's born in NT but unsure if he moved to QLD when he was young ala Ben Barba.
What about Moga?
Exactly, the eligibility rules needed to change but they ofcourse bungled it. I don't mind the before 13 rule (would prefer before 18 and played for a community club in the state, but whatever) however the "must make themselves eligible for australia" nonsense simply hurts the game in every way.Ugh it's so stupid, the very few players who would actually choose to represent another country would be of benefit to Origin, the International game, and be absolutely zero loss to Australia
