The one bit I don't think you've captured above about the timing and process for this is... that Albo listened to the broadest representation of Indigenous people (through the Uluru Voice from the Heart process) about how they wanted to go about achieving constitutional recognition and a Voice advisory committee.

Which is kind of the whole point about establishing a Voice in the first place - not telling Indigenous people about how a middle-class whitey politician man (or woman, or multiples of same) think it's best to achieve it. This thing isn't all Albo's doing or choices at all - but obviously Dutton and Sky News and the like are trying their level best to make out any potential failure to be Albo's problem, and score their political point..

What good is going about the process in a specific way if it is destined to fail? The representatives from the Uluṟu Statement should be focused on the outcome rather than the process and take advice on what is most likely to get them the end result that they’re after.

They have to stop Hamas, for sure, but I still don’t understand the disproportionate response.

I wonder where the other Arab states will draw the line?

In terms of hitting back at the Al Jazeera and curtailing their coverage, a cyber attack from Israel might have been more fruitful.

We are on the brink of world war 3.

Trumpy was more isolationist and didn’t rush off into battle too quickly.

Biden sending supplies to Israel doesn’t solve stuff.

Better to put pressure on everyone in the region to hand over the hamas or isolate them.

Arab states and others are only to do that if they believe in the cause.

Blowing up Gaza, unpopular with arab populations and media,puts pressure on their governments ( Arab states) to oppose Israel and keep the conflict going.

We haven’t seen the Hezbollah activated yet.

Israel might lose a lot of kids in a ground war and if the Arab states start an attack on Israel…

….A limited nuclear war, I don’t know.

Maybe a ground sweep is less scary than the rockets, but Hamas will be long gone.

They have tunnels everywhere and might escape through the south with the civvies.

Run away like they did in Israel in their unjustified murderous incursion.

I’m not with the historic argument people. It was a slaughter and it was wrong. They must be brought to justice.

Of course I differ passionately with the Israelis as to the means to that end.

I was disappointed that there was no sausage sizzle at the said polling booth. It was cancelled at the last minute.
I then found out that yesterday, the school's principal died suddenly.

The P+F president brought in heaps of cakes and biscuits that were cooked overnight, for the polling booth workers.
Such a thoughtful gesture from a school that we had no association with, besides this referendum today.
Our kids went to catholic schools in Castle Hill.
This school was in Crestwood.
