A high-profile Queensland NRL star and State of Origin player has been accused of rape.
The allegations were made to police after officers attended a player’s residence with a woman on Tuesday night, 9 News Queensland reported.
The woman later made a formal complaint to police, 9 News reported.
The player is currently contracted to a Queensland NRL club.
Queensland Police Service and the National Rugby League have been approached for comment.
It comes on the eve of the NRL’s showcase four-day Magic Round event in Brisbane this weekend, which has sold out.

Innocent until proven guilty is still the legal standard.

There was a case years ago where a woman came forward with a claim that multiple players from a NRL club gang raped her. There was a terrific media frenzy. Later one person not connected came forward saying that the same woman was seen fellating a team member in the spa pool. A different individual came forward saying that the woman was pounding loudly on the door of the players' holiday unit begging to be allowed in and was most upset that she wasn't getting in.

The Police released a statement saying that upon the disclosure of further information, the allegations had been withdrawn and there was to be no further investigation.

There are plenty of examples of player misbehavior. Criminal misbehaving. They deserve a trial before judgement. There are also some incidents of false accusation. Trial by media, especially Murdoch branded but by any name is sub-par.

If there is truth to the accusation the player will be dining with Jarryd Hayne and his prison husband.
