I thought Todd’s press conference was pretty good and honest to be fair. Spoke well about Brooks and the Tigers.

The Cowboys and Sharks in 2022 and 2023 are interesting comparisons.

Both were coached by a new or relatively rookie coach.

Payten took the reins in 2021 and the Cows finished second last that season.

2022 saw him keep the same squad really only adding Chad as the major signing.

2022 both the Sharks and Cows did remarkably well and both teams made it to at least the second week of the finals. Both improved significantly over their 2021 form.

2023 saw both coaches enter the season with basically the same squad. The only real purchase for the Cows was Luch but he didn't get on the paddock till last night. The only signing for the sharks was herb.

The sharks managed to improve their attack this year but has lost quite a bit in defence. Nevertheless we still sit in the top 4.

The Cows have gone backwards in almost every metric and are back in the bottom four.

Jury has to be out over whether Payten can coach or whether 2022 was an aberration for him/the Cows.

Cows have a pattern of very good seasons followed by very bad. Sharks have tended to be more consistent over the past 10 years apart from Asada years.

It's an interesting comparison of coaches and cultures. Fitz seems quite balanced and doesn't get too high or low. Payten rides the emotional wave more overtly.

I can't imagine this Sharks team conceding 40 to the Tigs let alone 66 (assuming no one sent off, multiple sin bins). Sharks seem to have more grit in their DNA.

Remember the draw Cowboys had in 2022 hardly left QLD at all so easy, very similar to Broncs this year who basically been at Lang Park throughout.
They also last year came from no where, we had just missed 8 and had been around finals for years

Could that be the end of Holbrook at Titans, he wants to make a sub with a minute to go the player on the field refuses to come off, the player to come on sits back on the bench.
Sign has lost the dressing room

He might be better off waiting for the 18th team to be introduced.
If it’s a second Victorian team, playing out of Torquay near Bells Beach, maybe he could rebrand himself as Chad Bellend.
Or they could locate the team in Toorak and he can be The Toorak Cowboy
