Carbon Tax = Abolished.
In 1979 the great Joe Bjelke Petersen said f**k it! Enough of these lefty k.hunts communistic taxes.
In a brave move , not too disimilar from the enigmatic Alan Joyce of Qantas, Sir Joe(or mate so some of us), called an urgent cabinet meeting. He sat down & held up the QLD tax book & said "all those in favour say Aye, all those against , head to the dole office".
And it was done. In one swipe of his awesome blue pen, a labor tax inflicted on Australian for over 150 years was abolished for QLD'ers. Death Tax was DEAD!!!!
This labor states laughed at the "radical" from the North & continued to slug good Australian citizens, war veterans, their families, hard working self employed people etc, with their death tax. But Australians were detested by the labor tax. it was a big bad tax. So they withdrew their money from the banks & invested in QLD. Mahy sold up totally, from places like Gymea, & moved North, to find a haven away from Labor & their big bad taxes. Thsi caught the Labor states off guard, so they pleaded with their ex pats to come home & with all of them following Jo's lead & abolishing Labors 3rd worst tax ever inflicted on good , anti commy, anti greeny, anti socialist Australian citizens. But it was too late. They had misjudged the electorate & now they had no tax, & lost hundreds of millions of dollars to QLD & super dooper double Whammy.
Later, it would take one ofthe most corrupt governments in Australia's history(the Labor Wran Government) to finally bring NSW to its Knees financially & begin the reign of true Australian heroe in Nick Greiner, to turn the Ship around.
Yes Quigs, Taxes can & will be abolished by non communist Australians. Thankfully.
