I think I was ganged up on because I was new and wouldn't cop having to 'recognise' the people who had been here longer, which I think is bullshit. People who are new or don't post here often have just as much right to disagree and sling shit as everyone else.
So I don't think it was my opinions that got me dogpiled, but the way I come across, which apparently wasn't acceptable for a n00b.

I think it's more acceptable to carry on like a merkin when you're defending something or someone (in this case the club, the board and the coach) than when you're attacking them.
It's like the lesser of two evils or something.
You're probably right and I'm sure I'm one of the ones who could be doing more to make the place more light-hearted. But the fact is I find the 'banter' pretty funny at times, and I'm sickened by forums where everyone treads on eggshells and tries their hardest not to offend each other.
That said, I try to remain mindful of the more sensitive members and I try not to act like a merkin when I'm disagreeing with them. I really would rather only get into shitfights with the people who also enjoy them.
I usually feel pretty guilty when I realise I've genuinely hurt somebody's feelings, though I also have trouble understanding how.
