we have to play at our very best and hope the opposition plays poorly for us to win a game

Today, the whole side played poorly.

It was as if they were all coming in to work after having been on holidays.

They played like a side expecting to be flogged.

Penrith is a very good side and rarely disappoint.

Wasn’t just our lack of speed, we were outmatched all over the park.
The Bye wasn't great for us

The difference is. The dogs have been able to sign good players. Meanwhile, the dragons are struggling to sign anyone of note. How the mighty have fallen
Not really, most media experts questioned there signings at the beginning of the year, most thought the dogs would struggle to make the 8, most thought the Dragons would get the Wooden spoon, both clubs have picked good players, and done well respectively.
The ARL had Manly, the NRL have the Storm, the John Ribbo and superleague comp was a scam, the theory of super games every week, close games, the best of the best, 10 team super comp laughable, we are no different to 1991, 20 team comp.
But St George lost there true history to the likes of scumulla and China PNG new super club.
Hey Shark supporters, who cares how many semi's you played in the 12 years, the Panthers or Storm will win the comp.

Today the club got their arses handed to them on a day that is supposed to be special to them in front of a sellout crowd.
All the usual suspects were at their worst. For alot of the 1st half I was proud that they were able to hang on as long as they did before the game got away from them, but what pisses me off most is how some of our more experienced and higher paid players just lost the plot. They are supposed to be our leaders and their actions set an example for every other player. I get fatigue and panic can affect decision making but there has to be a time when there are repurcussions.
Until these changes are made we cannot entertain any delusions of making the finals, let alone win a premiership anytine soon.

Marshke has been injured fellas.. he went off in that brissie game and hasnt been back.. no idea what the ETA is..

Would be a huge call and huge headlines to be dumping a current origin player when finals is still on the cards.. I get that everyone is angry currently.. but we are stuck with him for now...

Next year is a different story.. but he also has to have somewhere to go who will pay his contract out.
Back next week

If sloan was hooked for his defence, Hunt should be sent straight back to under 20s because he did not play like a 900-1m player. His heart wont be in it until he gets a release, then he will grow a third leg
Agree about dropping Hunt.
Like a lot of others.
I have been a fan of Hunt and when Hook made him captain, it seemed to bring out the best(?) in Hunt.
But from the the Anzac Day game to now he has been poor.
Flanno has shown courage to drop Bird, Laurie, Rav and Sloan.
Now it is Hunts turn.
Like other posters have said I am also SICK of hearing Hunt say at the PC:
“I didn’t kick well”.
If that is the case, why haven’t you done something about it.
Cut him Flanno!!!!!

Ill find a positive out of today's game. Toby Couchman
I dont like how they use him all the time as a battering ram but he is doing well and getting good experience
Has more impact than Lawrie on field
I also thought Sua & RFM tried hard and defended mostly solid

I think if Toby escapes suspension and Ryan gets a start.. maybe they play every game from here.. I think we can work with them.. we know they can tackle.. they get as many metres as anyone else.. maybe we can give less minutes to some of the others and keep them fresher.

There were a lot of rly bad errors today, something was rly off with the timing, that rly kickstarted the other issues.. wish the storm game wasnt this week.. but it is what it is.. dont think dropping anyone specific will make any difference though.

Been bluntly honest we won’t win next week unless the Storm only field 11 players sooo let’s be brave and give Hunt a week off call it an RDO and see what happens with Marschke it can’t be any worse than yesterday. Also maybe BMM and KFM get a break and let’s give Ryan Couchman and Tuiavake a go.

I forgot Liddleas a positive. Watched him closely and he was the only one with a bit of creativity but usually on his own and shows good speed. Him and Cookie sharing the role will be good next year.

I predicted we'd be the new Canberra Raiders this year (reaching the finals with a negative for & against) and, would you believe that in round 21 of 2022, Canberra played the premiers Penrith, at home, and got flogged 26-6. The Raiders went on a late season win streak to reach the top 8 and actually win their first finals match! I guess what I'm saying is: don't spiral into depression when we get smoked this weekend lol
Folks, I said don't spiral into depression! We didn't concede 50. That's good!

Yeah. Toby has a good step and an offload. Haven't seen enough of Ryan to comment but seem similar build. We will wear them out if we continue to play barge-ball (5 hit-ups and hail mary kick on the 6th).
Just watch Cleary and Laui how they probe for gaps or space out wide as an example. I knew what yesterdays outcome was going to be and I had to admire their skillset. The fourth GF is theirs to lose for mine.
