Parra Officially Out of Semi Finals

Parramatta still have the Hayne factor as well. Once he comes back he could start winning games on his own or completely destroy any good work that's been done in his absence.

Don't really care if they go on a run or finish last, as long as we beat 'em.

A little off topic, but my concern is having potentially half our squad out for SOO.

Drop a couple of games during that period, can quickly bring us back into the field. Depth in key positions worries me.

won't affect us at all. we will only be missing our origin player's once and that's against storm.

Of course it will have an impact, we play 4-5 days after each Origin. If most of our forwards are in Origin it will be a very heavy workload for them backing up. Some of the young blokes will need to step up.

I’m still expecting the usual suspects like Woods, Klemmer, Wade Graham, Josh Jackson, Jake T will get the call up to play Origin. RCG also seems like a certainty. And people keep talking up Cook and Korisau to play hooker.

We’ll likely only lose and 1 or 2 guys to Origin which is a good thing.

Cant see that mate.

Friz/Vaughan/JDB/McInnes/ Hunt/ and maybe Sims/Aitken ?

THats seven. Even is 5 get picked its a massive dent in our squad.

It will be much greater than 1-2 my friend.. My opinion only, and it appears to be a consensus with most pundits.

Anyway, I hope we have a contingency. Mann will get some overdue game time, and maybe Host and a few juniors?

I think Freddie has made it clear he will be picking on form and not reputation. If so, we will have a large representation. Happy for the players mind you. Good for their confidence / experience.

I’ll beleive it when I see it. This is NSW we are talking about.

They were still talking about Mitchell Pearce as the half before he got injured FFS.

As if 8 years of history has taught them nothing.

For the blues sake I hope so.

Every year I think to myself "surely they can't pick woods and Jackson and Pearce again".

And every year, like clockwork, there they are.

All 4 of friz, JDB, sims and Vaughan should be there on form, but even if Freddy shakes things up I wouldn't be surprised if sims and Vaughan miss out. Possibly JDB too.

As much as I'd like to see them stay fresh for the premiership, I'd be really disappointed for the boys. They all seem to really want it and their efforts over the past couple of years are deserving of reward.

Hopefully if they miss out we can reward them with a premiership instead.

Yeah, Im not a fan of SOO. Have posted that here many times over the years. I get the spectacle, and the $$$, but feels it disrupts the season..

However, I would be selfish not to wish our players selection, as they can / will get bonuses, upgrades on contracts, experience in high intensity games, exposure etc etc etc.

Freddy seems like a breath of fresh air ( so far ), in that he appears to have a blank sheet moving toward selection. All his interviews thus far seem to lean toward a fair go in terms of NRL form leading into SOO. Barring a slump in form by our lads ( or God forbid injury ). I think we will be well represented.

I remember in 2011 the Dagons were in-backable to finish on top of the ladder, then SOO came along, we had I think about 7 players involved and our form went out the window.

Yes - that would had been our 2nd Premiership on the run and who knows - the beginning of another dynasty ? Well perhaps not , but the Dragons chances for another trophy went down the gutter after that SOO series . I stil blame Ricky Stuart for that debacle .

That was the year where the bookies " stopped " betting on the minor premiership after our start if I recall.

Its very much a case of " what could have been ".

That was the year that one bookmaker, namely Sportsbet, paid out on us winning the minor premiership half way through the season. It was only one bookmaker. It was a promotion that got them on the back page of the major newspapers, and on the nightly news. Who knows how much they were actually holding.

The same bookmaker also paid out future bets on So You Think winning the Cox Plate before the race was ran in 2010. Again it was a promotion.
