Storm rested guys in Round 26

Won week 1 of finals

When they played us some guys had 1 game in a month and they missed the start. Lost as a result so no way is better but we have a soft draw right now.

I notice only 4/6 trained today

Hopefully Martin and Yeo have been told to have the weekend off. Relax for a few days will do him wonders

Rubbish re the storm idea.

It was the worst they played in years. And bellamy had always followed the same formula.

They just had a night to forget.

Jennings dropped it over the line for a certain try.

Welsch and smith 2 of the best in the game went down with hias...

Basically everything went wrong for them that night.

The hias and drop balls over the line have nothing to do with resting blokes which is what bellamys always done.

We can all lap it up on here. You can only beat what is in front of you... i know we were on one leg that noght with all our injuries but we got the storm at their worst.

Had nothing to do with resting blokes in rd 26 etc.. they just has an off night and got unlucky with injuries!

Thankfully for us!

We have no injuries in the club. It makes no sense to have 1/3 of the side back up. Given our ladder position

Im happy with that.

But dont make up stuff about the storm last year..

The fact is it all wemt for us that game.. they played their worst.. got injuries and were so uncharecteristically bad.. had nothing to do with resting blokes which theyve always done at that time if year.

Not made up. I think it is a hinderance resting guys at the end.

You want momentum.

Storm may well do that but it is hit and miss.

2019 Canberra got them week one in finals

Cows in 2015

Us last year

Lets not forget Parra rested heaps. To make the usual week 2 of the finals.

So each coach has their preference and only 1 side gets it right

I don't see why all players can't back up. They are young.
Yeo obviously I'd rest. The others should be good to go. Different if you a forward and played huge minutes. Plus the Knights shouldn't be a hard game if close to full strength. If rest everyone it could be 2 x points dropped.

I'd imagine resting 1 or 2 guys at a time further down t.he stretch to be more important. You also don't know what injuries you may get. Collect the 2 points while can. Gives you the luxury of resting/trying new things later in season and you want to finish top 2

Don't need the 2 points

What if NSW Cup has a stack of injuries later in the season?

We play every team in the top 8 except Broncos still. If Roosters fall out we play Canberra who will take their place.

So we can rest guys now and still possibly win as opposed to leaving it and getting a certain loss.

Which if say against the Cows puts them closer to us. We are in a softer part of the year. Good time to freshen up a few guys that need it

What we achieved last year with a side that banged up will likely never happen again in the history of this sport

Or probably the best coach in the game picking an awful bench then getting early injuries.

Even despite that. Jennings bombed a certain try and Critter try saver on Olam wins the game.

Critter intercept with 2 outside him unmarked v Parra.

Resting one guy would be easier then 6

Yeo and Martin are obvious rests. Martin played 80 and made 50 tackles in one of the most fast paced games in years with NSW getting stomped in the ruck all game. Same with To’o, not long off a bad injury and he was belted all game. Critta obviously should play. I wouldn’t mind the halves playing, they could use the confidence boost. Use the Salmon/Kenny bench spots to ensure you can take them off when we have a safe lead.

I'd rather just run with last weeks team. Maybe just Critta in for Jennings. I want to see what they learned from last week and if they can maintain the intensity for a longer period. They are more than up to knocking over the Knights.
